Our friends have discovered a village, with people that Bethany once knew. The village had a staff, with a crystal that keep the shadows out. Guest wanted it, but Remius refused. He intends on borrowing it, but is it worth the risk?
It was late at night, and the festival began. Everyone started to dance around the fire. Guest took a sip of water at the table full of food.
"Quite the party, isn't it?" Daisy asked as she walked up to him. "Yes! It is!" Guest yelled out enthusiastically. "Too bad it's only for a day." she said.
"Okay, now's my chance" Guest thought to himself as the thought of an alibi. "Hey, I quickly need to use the bathroom, is that okay with you?" he asked.
"Sure thing!" Daisy responded. Guest walked away from the table. Daisy walked by the group who was surrounding the large bonfire.
"You were right, Beth. It is breathtaking" Molly turned to Bethany. "Yeah, if only Matt, Jez, and Ryan were here to witness this awesome party!" Bethany replied.
"We'll rest here, and by the next day, we will set off to find them again." Molly pat Bethany's back. "I just hope they are all okay" Rose chimed in.
"Oh, my... Past? And my relationship with my adoptive father?" Bethany slowly asked. "Well, I can't remember much, but I will do the best I could to remember it."
"My adoptive mother found me on the porch and took me inside. My adoptive father was really nice at the time! He accepted me into the family." she said with a smile.
"Then a year later, Jez was born. I never felt so much joy in my life!" then Bethany's smile faded to a faint frown. "One day, my dad changed into a monster. He started to kill guests that did nothing wrong"
"He hurt my mother many times. I tried to stop him from doing harm, but then he ended up hurting me instead. His reputation was ruined, for good..." Bethany starts to tear up.
"The day my mother was murdered, was when everything went downhill. My father kicked me out of the house and I was forced to live in a forest like an animal. What's worse is that I had to leave my brother, who I was very close"
"We've just reunited, and I fear that now that Jez is captured, I might lose him for good..." Bethany's tears started to run down her cheeks. "WHY COULDN'T MY DAD HAVE LET ME STAY, I HATE HIM! I... I-"
Bethany was cut off. "BETHANY STOP!" Rose yelled. "You don't have to talk about it anymore. They understand." Bethany broke down in tears, resting her head onto Rose's shoulder. "Shh... It's okay. We'll find them. I promise" Rose quietly said.
Then Remius started to yell. "Someone is stealing the staff in the temple!" Bethany yelled as she dried her tears.
In the temple, Guest was running away with the staff in hand. He ran through the path, where no one was there. He took a sharp turn to the left in the alleyway. He sees arrows flying from the sky.
