The Last Guest 5: Aftermath [OLD]

Chapter 12: Drown Below

It seems that Guest had failed to get the staff, and Shadow has burned the village down, killing Remius. Our heroes decide to stay at a cave for the night, but the question remains. How many will be taken?

Bethany uses a stick to start a fire. She created a spark, later becoming a warm and cozy fire. "Where did you learn to do that?" Guest asked. 

"I was an adventurer, I lived mainly in the outdoors. So obviously I know how to start a fire." Bethany explained. "Interesting." Guest nodded.

"Shadow could still be running around. We should sleep in shifts, one of us will keep a look out, then if that person gets tired, they'll get someone else" Daisy insisted.

"I'll be on the look out" Molly volunteered. "You sure?" Guest asked, concerned. "Yeah, I was able to stay up for 20 hours!" she said proudly.

Everyone just stared at her. "Fine, 19 hours." she admitted.

Daisy cuddled Guest as they remain in slumber. Bethany slept against the wall, and Rose laid her head on a rock. Molly looked out from the cave entrance in the night sky.

Molly sighed. "Thanks, but I thought it would be obvious to why I hate the elite guard." she said.

"I don't necessarily hate him, I don't even know him all that well. But I know he is an enemy, because he works for the bacon empire." she said.

"Besides, he tried to kill me, but if it wasn't for Matt, I wouldn't be here, answering your question." she continued.

"Speaking of which, I hope that Matt is okay right now." she continued to look at the night sky from the cave entrance. "Same goes for Jez and Ryan."

Above the cave, were two shadow creatures. They ran to the top of the hill where the cave was below it. They found a cluster of rocks laying at the top.

They used all their strength to push the rock down the hill. After what seemed like forever, they finally managed to push the rocks down the hill.

The rocks blocked up the cave entrance, and it's loud sound woke up everyone. "What happened?" Rose asked.

Bethany tried to break the rocks, but no luck. "We're trapped!" she yelled. "What do we do?" Guest chimed in.

He turned around to see more to the cave. He grabbed a stick from the fire place and turned it into a torch. "Come on"

Guest and his friends walked further into the cave. Bethany looked from the back to make sure no one followed them.

Splash

Guest looked down to see his shoes in a pool of water. Bethany walked over to the pool of water with a torch that just burned out.

She dipped the stick in every part of the pool, until she reached a deep part. She let go of the stick, to see it descend into the bottom.
