VENUS felt a surge of anger welling up within her chest as someone entered the flower shop. She couldn't be mistaken; she recognized him by the way he stood, the way he walked, and every single one of his movements.
She froze when their eyes locked onto each other. His features remained unchanged, but he appeared more mature and masculine. He still possessed those long eyelashes, thick eyebrows, a prominent nose, well-defined cheekbones, a finely sculpted jawline, and those sensual red lips.
She began to breathe heavily when she looked into his eyes once more. They were still beautiful and retained their rare and magical purple hue, the same eyes that used to send countless shivers down her spine years ago.
"Welcome to Giselle's Flower Shop, Sir," she greeted him with a forced smile and feigned casualness. As she scanned him from head to toe, she couldn't help but notice that he hadn't changed a bit in the past decade, still sporting leather jackets and denim jeans. "What kind of flowers would you like to order, Sir?" she inquired, trying to maintain her composure.
"Well..." His eyes wandered around the shop, and his voice remained husky and enticing. Then, he focused his gaze on her, attempting to study the person he hadn't seen in a decade, the girl he had left without saying goodbye. "I'd like to order a Venus Flower, please," he requested.
"I'm sorry to inform you, sir, that the flower you'd like to purchase is currently unavailable."
"How are you?" Venus's heart ached, and for some reason, gazing into his beautiful purple eyes brought back long-forgotten memories of their time together. "It's been a decade, hasn't it? You've changed a lot," he remarked, his voice tinged with a mixture of emotions.
"Well, I'll take that as a compliment," she replied with a wink, though she sensed his discomfort. "And yes, you still love your leather jackets," she said with a slight grin, acknowledging the familiarity of the conversation.
"Uh-huh, I've always liked them," he replied with a smile, revealing his perfect set of white teeth. As he continued to look at her, he couldn't help but notice how much Venus had changed.
The innocent and sweet Venus he had met a decade ago was no longer there; instead, she had transformed into a confident, sexy, and captivating woman with a wild appearance.
He became aroused, and his jeans felt uncomfortably tight.
"Yup, same old you."
"Yup, same old me," he agreed, though deep down, he couldn't help but wish that it wasn't too late for him to reconnect with her. His gaze remained fixed on her, filled with longing and regret. "Are you free? Would you like to grab a coffee together?" he asked, hoping to spend some time with her.
She thought.
"Alright," she replied flatly, her tone giving away little emotion.
