In Your Eyes

The only sound being heard in the dead of night is the low tune coming from the television. An eerie instrumental during the end credits of a movie the teens had ended up watching. All six of them were laying on the blanket-covered floor of the living room, having decided to sleep there all together.

But sleep wasn't coming to Millie as easily as it did to her cast-mates. Bloody Noah was even snoring next to her ear, making it even more difficult for her to doze off. Everybody seemed to have fallen asleep way before the end of the movie. She was the only one who felt compelled to watch the entire thing, and now, thanks to that, she can't sleep at all.

Millie slowly got up and started towards the kitchen, one step at a time, trying not to hit or step on anyone. She managed to move through the pile of sleeping bodies without any injuries inflicted to any of them or herself.

Once she got to the kitchen, she poured herself some water, turned on five little LED candles that were arranged on the counter-top and sat down, resting her elbows on it; the dim light of the candles illuminating the 011 tattoo on her left forearm.

Even though it had faded a bit because of her more-than-an-hour-long bath last night, she couldn't help but stare at it. That tattoo had been a part of her since she was ten years old and she no longer felt complete without it. Not having it on almost felt like losing a part of her identity.

'Admiring Sarah's artwork?'

She jumped in her seat at the sudden sound in the, up until that moment, completely silent night, jerking her knee up too hard in the process and hitting it on the counter. 'Fuck!', she hissed through her teeth, cradling her knee with both hands like she would her pup.

'Shit! Sorry! Are you okay?!', Finn whispered as he hurried towards her.

Millie looked up at him, suddenly standing right in front of her, staring at her, worry clouding his eyes. She blinked away the tears from her own ones and softly said 'Yeah, it's okay', she breathed, 'I'm okay'.

'I really didn't mean to scare you', he said, still looking at her as if to check if she really was okay. He was aware that it was her previously badly injured knee she had banged just now.

'I know, Finnie. It's not your fault. I was deep in thought and didn't hear you get up', she tried to reassure him. He wasn't to blame for her jumpiness, she thought to herself while rubbing her knee gently, trying to soothe the pain.

'Yeah, I saw you ogling your tattoo', Finn chuckled, taking a seat next to her.

He grasped her left arm and put it on his lap, 'It's cool, isn't it?', he said as he stroked his thumb over the black inked numbers.

Millie nodded, straining herself to ignore the tingling she felt wherever his thumb touched, 'I might get it permanently done when I turn 18.'

'Really?', he looked up at her in surprise.

'Yeah', she whispered, 'I want to remember this experience and everyone who's been a part of it, forever'.

'Even me?', Finn asked with a side smile.

Although she knew he meant it as a joke, Millie felt her heart physically hurt once again at the thought of not having Finn in her life anymore after all of this was over. Despite the fact that she knew that there will be a fifth season, she couldn't seem to rid herself of the feeling that she was going to lose him any day now. It was always in the back of her mind no matter what she was doing.

She couldn't find the strength to say anything, so she just bowed her head, looking at her own wrist cradled in his hand. Over the years, she had noticed her arms getting smaller and smaller in his hands. It felt like she was shrinking, when in reality it was just Finn growing at an abnormal rate.
