El walked into the Wheeler's living room that afternoon, to find Mike sat on the chair he called 'lazy boy' when he first showed it to her, back when they had just met for the very first time.
Looking at how his long legs were spread out and dangling over the edge, she remembered how cute he looked when he was excitedly explaining to her how the chair worked whilst she was sat in it, like he was now.
She still found it strange how comfortable and relaxed she became around him in such a short amount of time. He, very quickly, became the one person she trusted and the one person she knew she could rely on. And he stayed that one person for her even now, three years later.
'Hi', she said softly, sitting down on the armchair next to him, as he absently rocked back and forth, staring at the TV screen.
'Hey', he replied with a barely-there smile, glancing at her for just a second, then looking back to the TV.
'I've been looking for you'
'And you've found me'
Taken aback by how he was acting, El just watched him in silence for a minute, trying to figure out what was going on with him.
'Is everything okay?', she finally muttered in confusion.
'Yeah... why wouldn't it be?'
His matter-of-a-fact responses made her fume inside but she tried really hard to settle down. After a deep breath, she attempted to get through to him again,'You've been weird all day, that's all'.
Even though she tried to hide it, Mike could hear the harshness in her voice. So he turned to look at her and asked, 'Weird how?', returning his gaze back to the scene of the movie he wasn't even watching anymore.
'Just... weird, like something's wrong', she answered, the lack of patience seeping through her pores, as he was obviously beating around the bush.
'Well, nothing's wrong', he replied shortly, still keeping his eyes trained on the TV in front of him.
Deciding that she has had enough of his behavior, El got up abruptly, biting the inside of her cheeks whilst nodding her head at him, and walked away. She was stood in the living room doorway when she spun back around, 'Mike?', she said after waiting a beat or two to calm herself down a little bit.
Mike lifted his head up slightly, meeting her sad-looking eyes, 'Yeah?'
'You promised you wouldn't lie anymore', she said, a disappointed tone in her voice and she left, leaving Mike sitting on the 'lazy boy', staring after her, tears of frustration clouding his eyes.
He threw away the remote he had been gripping tightly since she had walked in, hearing it crash to the ground near the fireplace as he blinked away the tears before they spilled out.
'CUT!', Shawn yelled out. 'This shot was perfect! No more takes needed'.
Finn got up off of the chair and stretched his muscles that were aching in protest of him sitting in the same position for about half-an-hour. He walked towards where Shawn and Millie were stood high-fiving each other.
The moment he approached them Shawn said, 'Finn, your next stop is Matt's set, so head on over there after your break. Millster, you and I will be off to the Wheeler's basement in two minutes. Winona is waiting for us there'.
The teen co-stars nodded at their director and answered in unison:
'Alright.'
'Okay.'
