Millie and Finn were laying on their backs next to each other on Millie's white and lilac cotton sheets. Their arms were resting comfortably on their bellies that were satiated with popcorn, cookies and fruit. The tray Millie had so thoughtfully prepared prior to Finn's arrival, left forgotten on the floor, nearly empty now.

'Hey, Finn?', Millie spoke out suddenly, interrupting both of their silent thoughts. The conversations they had had whilst they were eating had slowly faded away, leaving the two free to get lost inside their own heads.

'Yeah?', he breathed out, turning his head towards her, his right ear leaning on one of the many pillows she had perched at the top of her bed.

'I just forgot to say...', she started, turning her body onto her left side so she could face him fully, 'Um... I'm sorry I slapped you before'.

Finn chuckled softly, instinctively raising his hand to rub his tender cheek, 'It's okay, I deserved that'.

'No, it's not okay. What you said wasn't nice, but that's no excuse, I should've handled it better'.

Hearing how serious she had gotten made Finn turn all the way towards her as well, effortlessly settling onto his right side, 'Mill, it's okay. I promise, I'm not mad'.

'I'm mad at myself', she said, disappointment lacing her voice. 'I swore to myself to never condone any type of violence in my life. But the moment you say something that pisses me off, I turn into something that I, myself, don't accept. It's not fair. It's hypocritical'.

'I get what you mean, but, come on, that was hardly violence', he tried to reason with her. He was well aware that her intention wasn't to cause him pain, she just impulsively reacted to the insulting thing he was insinuating.

'Did it hurt?', she asked shortly, both her brows going up.

'Well, yeah, a little, but-'

'Then it's violence', she concluded firmly, not leaving anything open for further discussion. She didn't want to make any excuses for herself. It doesn't matter that he hurt her, angered her... she should've known better.

Finn watched her as she played with a little frilly part of the pillow her head was leaning on, wondering when she had started to feel so strongly about this particular subject; wondering what had prompted that too.

He reached out his hand to touch hers, stopping its movements and catching her attention once again. He was just about to ask her the questions that were running through his head when a knock came from outside the door.

'Millie, it's getting late', Paige yelled out from behind the door, 'It's time for Finn to go'.

Both teens heard the sound of the footsteps moving away and disappearing off into the distance as they laid completely still. They were lucky Paige had decided against opening the door; Finn wasn't entirely sure she would've liked the image of him and Millie in bed together.

He reluctantly moved away from Millie and got up from her bed, fixing his white tee and dark jeans. He was instantly reminded of the mess he had left in his room after changing a dozen times before coming here. A mess he would have to clear out as soon as he got back to his place.

'Well, um... I guess I should leave', he said glumly as he watched her do the same with her clothes after she stood up. He wished they were in their trailer right now and could stay in each other's arms the whole night. He really didn't want to leave.

'Yeah, I guess you should', she uttered sadly, 'I really wish you didn't have to though'

There she goes again, Finn thought to himself, being the braver one of the two. He determinedly strode towards her and pulled her into his strong embrace, not being able to resist his urge to hold her close, 'I wish I didn't have to either', he whispered against her hair.
