A piercing scream startled Paige out of her dream. Dazedly, she got out of her bed and onto her shaky legs, stumbling as fast as she could over to Millie's room, where the shouting was coming from. She burst through the door without bothering to knock, having a single goal in her mind - getting to her sister as soon as possible.

The moment she opened the door, she strode straight over to Millie's bed where the now whimpering girl was squirming around in her own pool of sweat. Noticing that she was still asleep, Paige reached out her arms to grab her sister's shoulders as gently as she could, not wanting to scare her even more.

'Millie, sweetie, wake up', she pleaded, trying to ignore the ache she felt in her chest when her sister flinched under her touch.

Paige's shaking of her sister's body finally worked after a couple of torturous minutes and the frantic teen opened her red-looking eyes, quickly scrambling away from her sister right away, curling herself up into a ball as devastating sobs left her wobbling lips.

'It's me, Mill, it's Paige, your sister. It's just and I in your room', the older sister said softly, 'Please let me hold you'.

It took some time for Millie's troubled mind to register Paige's words, as the images from her dream still haunted her, but it eventually did and the crying girl literally threw herself into her sister's safe embrace.

Paige cradled Millie's tiny body, holding her tightly as she put her head on top of hers and began to rock her back and forth whilst gently shushing her, trying her best to calm her down as she reminded her to breathe every now and then. It wasn't their first post-nightmare rodeo, so she knew exactly what to do to make her baby sister feel better.

By the time Millie's alarm rang through the room, her breathing had gone back to normal and the trembling of her entire body had almost completely stopped. In a robotic manner, she separated herself from her sister and moved her tense muscles to pick up her phone and turn off the irritating beeping.

'I thought they stopped', Paige spoke up after Millie put her phone down and leaned her aching body onto the headboard, her head falling backwards in exhaustion.

'They did', Millie crocked out as she stared up at the ceiling.

'So... What triggered this one?', Paige asked carefully.

The teen took the deepest breath she could muster in order to sooth her burning lungs, 'I might have mentioned it last night'.

'You told Finn?', the older brunette exclaimed in surprise.

'No', Millie sighed in defeat, 'We talked about Joseph, and I brought up needing him in January and I just... I don't know, Paige... Everything just came rushing back and I...', she shook her head in frustration, 'We continued our conversation normally after that and I thought I was okay... I mean, we laughed together so much after that... he made me forget it all... I just don't understand...'

'Hey... Hun', Paige squeezed her sister's knee comfortingly, hating seeing her beating herself up over this as if she had somehow done something wrong, 'It's okay, it happens... It's like with alcoholism, people relapse'.

'You did not just compare my nightmares to addiction', Millie snorted as she moved her head back down to look at her sister.

'Made you laugh a little, didn't I?' Paige joked, 'But in all seriousness, I just meant that, for months you were doing well and this is just a tiny setback. It doesn't mean you've somehow failed yourself or anyone else... you're still fighting strong'.

Millie shrugged her shoulders whilst she stared at her sister with glossy eyes, 'I guess I just fooled myself into thinking that I'm completely over it'.
