Knowing that my dad wanted to see me to try and convince me to help him get out of prison scared the life out of me. Him being inside did not mean that I was safe from the torture he would put me through. Visiting him was the last thing I wanted to do but I knew if I did not visit, he would find ways to torment until I did. I was scared what he would do to me and the people I cared about so I forced myself to find the strength to face him. I was glad I had my mum with me to offer me support as I knew he would not expect her to be there.

As scared as I was too see him again, I could only imagine how my mum was feeling after not seeing him in so long. She must be feeling petrified to see the man who ruined both of our lives again. But then, her coming with me and facing him told me that she put her love for me before herself and that meant the world to me. It showed me that she did love me, after all these years I was still her little girl and she would do whatever she needed to, to protect me.

We were sitting side beside on crappy plastic chairs in the visitors room as we waited for the prison guards to start bringing in the prisoners. My mum was holding onto my hand tightly and I could tell she was nervous by how clammy her palm was but she was trying not to show it as a smile remained firmly on her face. We hadn't spoken about seeing him ever since we decided that we would visit, we just decided the day it happened we would deal with it then. Now that it was here, the anxiety and worry was clear.

I took a sharp intake of breath as my eyes landed on the prison officer followed by some prisoners. My eyes fell on my dad straight away. He must have sensed I was looking as he suddenly noticed me and locked his eyes with mine. I could read the expression on his face anywhere; he was pissed off - he looked ready to kill me. Then, his eyes landed on my mum.

Checkmate.

Inside I felt like I had one over on him for having my mother here but deep down I knew he was a powerful man and could find a way to destroy both of our lives again.

He walked over to us both and sat down. I quickly looked over to my mother who had an expression I couldn't read, I guess she was trying to come to terms with seeing the man that ruined her life and mine. They were staring at each other intently, my dad's mouth was gaped open in shock as he took in the sight of my mother. He looked back and forth between the two of us before making it a point to roll his eyes.

"Sadie, I did not expect to see you here" he said, shock evident in his voice.

"I bet you didn't" my mum spat.

He ignored her and focused his attention on me, "I don't know what you have told her but I am going to get straight to the point. I want you to get me the hell out of here or I will take away absolutely everything that you own. Have you forgotten who paid for your degree, your flat, everything you own?" he spat bitterly.

Before I had the chance to respond my mum jumped to my defense, "You will not get away with threatening her. I am here now and I have told the police every single detail of the horrible things you did to the both of us-"

He cut her off, "I don't give a damn about what I did to either of you. All I care about is getting out of here! Get me out of here and I will ensure you keep everything you own and I will never contact either of you ever again. But only if you find a way to get me out of her and drop any of the charges you are pressing against me."

"No!" I exclaimed shaking my head. "I will not do that. You have been walking all over me for too long and controlling my life. I am not allowing it anymore! I want my freedom from you and I don't care at what cost it takes to have that. Take everything I have away from me but you cannot take me taking my life back away from me" I said confidently.

"Listen you stupid whore, you were not complaining when I was paying everything for you. Now here you are thinking you are brave because I am the one inside and not you. Don't forget you tried to kill me" he spat.

"It was self-defense and we both know that. Everyone else in the room that day knows it too and there is nothing you can do to change that. Oh and by the way, they had their phones recording the whole time so the police heard that too. You do not have a leg to stand on" I grinned bitterly.

"If I don't have a leg to stand on, how come you are here? I have scared you into coming here so clearly you are worried what is going to happen to you. You may have won keeping me in here but I will make sure to make your life hell" he seethed.

"Shut the fuck up" my mum spat, "You will not do nothing to either of us. She is safe from you now and there is nothing you can do to hurt either of us again. Sell her flat, then I will just buy it myself. She can get a student loan - she does not need to rely on you. You have nothing on her so stop with the games."

"Then how come I made Hunter fuck off to the other side of the world?" he laughed bitterly
