Write your letter.

Dear Sir/Madam:

I have recently read the Trollolol Daily dated 8/7/2087, and I have extreme opinions regarding one of your articles. To quote the article, the writer seems to claim that the current generation of couch potatoes is useless, indolent, and unimaginative while "dedicated to empty materialism" and "conforms slavishly to universal fads in clothing, music, and entertainment", a generation that "has absolutely nothing to take pride in for all it's worth". I completely disagree with this article for the reasons below.

First of all, you exaggerated the drawbacks of the generation while writing no advantages of it and mislead everyone about the influence this generation has. Numerous inventions, for instance, smartphones, have been made for the necessity of the said "couch potatoes" and are invented by the generation themselves. Secondly, the article stated that the generation "has nothing it can hold its head up and describe proudly as being unique of its own." In contrast, what the article wrote is contradictory to the fact that I stated, since most, if not all technology and advancements are made owing to this particular generation you unreasonably criticized.

Last but not least, criticizing the term 'a whole generation' is an extremely biased and ridiculous statement to make, owing to the fact that the majority in this generation are occasional to be 'dedicated to empty materialism' or to 'conformed slavishly to universal fads' in attire, music, and entertainment. Such extreme cases like those illustrated above do not exist. I request an immediate apology and dismission to the author who wrote this infuriating article.

Again, I strongly disagree about the opinions that the said article addressed in your latest newspaper. I believe that the article has severely misinterpreted and discriminated against the current generation in many ways and I ask for the paper to present a full apology for writing and publishing such an inaccurate piece.

* Trollolol Daily? Seriously?

* I debated making this letter a CAE or a CPE composition; I'm not sure if Proficiency provides letters and stories in Task 2 anymore.

* Bad example: Do NOT use emotional and/or subjective language in formal letters or emails. Be as formal and polite as possible. Don't rant about how you don't like it. Provide concrete evidence why and state clearly what do you want.
