DRACO's POV

A week after Athena's party and here I was in my room. It was the day I was going to join the Dark Lord and it made sick in the stomach.

I sat as stared outside, I could remember the day the Order had first talked to me after my father got arrested.

Flashback

There I sat in the park near Grimmauld and I waited. I was watching the kids play and I smiled. I heard a pop and I knew they were here.

I felt people sit beside me and I sighed. I looked and there sat was Professor Dumbledore himself, Professor Snape, Mr. Weasley, Remus, Sirius, and Charlie.

I nodded at them, "We are only waiting for the team." Sirius said as he sighed. I felt my heart heavy. We heard whistling of the trees and we knew they had arrived.

From the trees revealed Loki, Nat, Steve, Bucky and Mr. Stark. I stood up and greeted them. After the greetings we ventured to Grimmauld.

Once we entered we went straight to business. "Draco, has the Dark Lord summoned you." I sighed, I shook my head, "Not yet but I feel like my mother has heard and she knows that he'll summon me."

They nodded and I looked at Loki. I worried for Athena and I knew he did too. He was the only one who knew and understood the whole connection and when he looked at me, he had glum eyes.

"Mr. Malfoy..." Snape started, "We have decided for you to have a job just like mine."

I nodded my head, I knew that he was a spy and I understood that. "But, because the Dark Lord asks for my opinion, he had decided to give you the hardest job."

I looked at him and he glanced at my headmaster and I realized, "He wants me to kill Professor Dumbledore..." I concluded.

They nodded and I was stumped, "But-" "Do not worry Draco, my time in this world is ticking and we will do our best to not let you finish the job." The old wise man said.

I sat there frozen, "You will become a spy to the Order. We trust you." Mr. Weasley said.

"What's the catch?" I asked Snape and he looked at Mr. Stark. I glanced at him and he looked away.

"The Dark Lord will make you choose." "I know. And I understand that I have to choose Athena."

They nodded, "But that is not all..." Charlie said, looking at me. I furrowed my eyebrows, "The choice is to keep her and then her death" I froze and looked at him, "or..."

I glanced at them, "Or what?" I demanded. I closed off our connection so she won't feel what I feel. They looked at each other, I breathed in and sighed. "Please tell me..." I begged as I looked at Snape.

"Choose her and her death or leave her and she'll live." My heart broke and I felt like I was drowning.

I looked at Loki, "But-" "the choice is up to you Mr. Malfoy." Dumbledore said.

I looked at her family and I felt a tear slide down my cheek. I closed my eyes and let out a sob.

I sunk in my chair, I wanted to scream and throw things. I wanted to rip my hair out until I felt her tap my heart.

My lips trembled and tapped back. She sent me flurries and I let out a laugh.

I looked up with a determined face, "I'll do it." They looked at me with blank spaces. They nodded and I felt my heart break even more.

"But, I want you to suppress our connection." I said to Loki. "It's dangerous-" "For this plan to work, we have to try."

"It could change destiny..." he mumbled. I felt more tears flow down my cheeks, I nodded my head, "It's the only way. For the greater good..."

End of Flashback

I heard a knock and I looked and saw my mother. "It's time son..." I nodded and straightened my suit.

I walked down to the sitting room and I saw him sitting there. I put up a blank face and put up the barrier in my mind that Snape has thought me.

"Ah Draco, just in time. I have a proposition for you. To retrieve the position and reputation of your family, I offer you a place in my group." I nodded simply and he smiled. "Wonderful! But I have already planned a mission for you. One you need to finish yourself."

I nodded, "Yes My Lord." He laughed in delight. "Wonderful! But there is a bit of a problem." I felt my heart sunk. It didn't go away, after her birthday Loki had created a barrier between us and she couldn't feel me but I could still feel her.

"Your choice of lover is not pleasing. I understand that you have a connection but my child you have two choices. Do my task and you shall live but you either leave her for her life to be spared or you keep her and death will become of her."

I pulled a straight face and I looked at him. I nodded, "I will do your task My Lord..." "And your choice?" he said with a blank face.

I gulped, "I will leave her once I see her in the train." He looked at my eyes and I sent him reassurance. He smirked, "Very well..."

And at that moment, I became a pawn in his game and I felt so alone. And I didn't have my sun to pull me out of this one.
