Part 15 - The New Start

The next day Mallika woke up and felt something tickling on her face. It was Sumedh's hairs. She tried to move from him but he was holding her tightly. He was sleeping peacefully and Mallika didn't want to disturb him. She kept rolling her finger on his face. Then after few minutes he woke up and asked slowly " Hey Karghosh,  Where is my chai?"

It was so typical of Sumedh to give priority to his chai and so getting angry Mallika replied " No chai today for you. " Sumedh just smiled. She continued " Do you like chai or me? "
Sumedh pulled her closer and gazed into her eyes and replied loudly "Chai"

Immediately Mallika started throwing pillows on him and Sumedh just kept escaping and after few minutes he noticed something , Miku was wearing his favourite bunny T-shirt. Sumedh said " Hey Miku,  That is my favourite T-shirt. Give it back to me. " Mallika was shocked as she managed to get only the T-shirt from the closet over the night and was not having anything else to wear. Sumedh ran after her and they both behaved like Tom and Jerry and after some running Sumedh pulled her and pinned her to the bed. Both of them gasped for breath. Mallika managed to say " I won't give this T-shirt no matter what you do." Sumedh replied " No problem it's all yours. Whatever is mine is always yours including my soul." She felt touched and bent forward and kissed him passionately. Sometimes a dirty kiss makes a best kiss.

Later they realised that everyone would be waiting for them at the breakfast table and both rushed to the bath to get ready. They behaved like two grown up kids fighting for their turns. Then both got ready in their professional attires as they had to go for work that day.

Everyone greeted them at the breakfast table. Mallika just prayed for a minute and sat down to eat next to Sumedh. But Sumedh was troubling her by tickling her hips under the cover of the table. Mallika just tried to stamp his legs to control him, but instead she ended up stamping Dau who let out a shout. He looked at Mallika who just put her head down and behaved like she didn't do anything. Everyone was looking at the trio as they acted weirdly at the breakfast table.

Meanwhile Yash Agarwal had called for a board meeting and so he left early before others to office. Sumedh and Mallika took their Lamborghini for a change to office. They usually used it only over the weekends. Basanth also left. Revati was taking care of her colleges by working from home.

As they reached office,  everyone greeted and some close pals also congratulated Mallika. But She sensed a difference in their respect for her. As soon as they entered Sumedh's office they were called to the board room by the Chairman (Mr. Yash Agarwal). They both gave a puzzled look to each other and walked towards the board room.

As they entered the room,  they saw almost all the important persons of the Agarwal conglomerate present there. Sumedh was also clueless as to why his dad didn't inform him about the meeting beforehand. As they were seated,  Yash presided over the meeting and introduced Mallika his new daughter in law and announced to everyone 's surprise that she will henceforth be one of the active member of the board and will work along with Sumedh. Mallika 's eyes widened in surprise , she least expected this as it also meant she would have equal power and responsibilities as Sumedh due to her new position.

Yash congratulated her and wished her good luck on her new role. All the others though initially hesitant to have a new comer on the board didn't dare to question a powerful person as Yash. Sumedh gave her a quick hug and felt happy for her. When everyone left the boardroom Mallika thanked Yash but he just placed his hands on her head and blessed her saying that " In the Agarwal house , sons or daughters or daughter in laws will be treated as equal in everything and they will be given respect at all times ." Mallika was moved by his words. She remembered to give her best and it was the start of new times....
