"Don't let the old things get to you" her father said and she nodded.
"Otosama, Okaasama, I'll leave now" she coldly bowed before walking out of the doors.
"Seii! Have a nice day!!" Her mother yelled from the kitchen.
It was her first day at Fukurodani and she was rather early, like she always was. She took her phone out and plugged her earphones in. Opera was her jam, it kept her from throwing javelin into people's chests.
She tugged her head low and swivelled through the corridor in her pink roller shoes. Her eyes scanned the schedule, orientation was straight ahead so she drifted through the corridor like she would back at Shiratorizawa. She was immersed in the opera since it was almost coming to an end and they'd hit an aria anytime soon, her favourite part. She was so into it she didn't realise crashing into a barricade.

"Bokuto san-"
"Akaashiii! Stop being so formal!" He walked into the school he was so familiar with, but a different wing since he was in high school now. "Say... do you think I'll find a girlfriend?"
"The last one left you quite devastated" Akaashi bluntly said "As did the two before her"
"You're no fun" he pouted.
"OMG is that Bokuto kun?"
"Where'd he get those muscles from??"
"He looks so good"
"Did he have a summer glow up?"
"BOKUTOOOOO!!!!" He heard a few girls cheer for him.
"HEY HEY HEYYYY!" He greeted them back like the jolly old man he was.
They headed towards the orientation, Bokuto was rather upset about having to sit through the whole boring discourse. He stopped when he remembered that he left his lucky pen in the locker.
"Ah!!! You go ahead, Akaashi. I'll be right back" he took a step back before turning around, only to see a pink haired figure in pink roller shoes run straight into him.
It all happened so fast, she harshly impacted against his thorax in a millisecond and his reflexes had his arm coil around her waist to keep her from falling. One of her earplugs detached from her ear because of the contact and her body tingled at the firm grip around her. She'd never felt anything like that before, it was a foreign feeling that she mostly didn't like because of how her stomach whirred at the touch.
Bokuto's hand had frozen in place. Her coldness had already frosted his fingers. She raised her head to look at him and the chills shot through his whole body in a nanosecond. He felt a jolt of electricity strike his spine and all his Owl feathers shot out of his body. His quill-less form quivered under her gaze as his radiant orbs landed upon the most beautiful pair of eyes he'd ever seen.
It was unlike anything he'd come across. They were of two different colours. One that matched her pink hair and the other a few hues golden. His eyes went wide as he peered into her cold, heterochromatic ones.
The aria was blasting through her ear as her irises affixed onto the warmest pair of sunny eyes she'd ever encountered. Her insides were afraid that if she kept looking, all her coldness would defrost. She'd not come across a more lively set of eyes before, what's even worse was that she'd never been intimidated before.
She quickly fixed herself "Scary, isn't it?" She smirked getting away from his hold. Her voice rang in his ear like a sweet melody. Her creamy, soft tenor had him melt like butter on high flame, he was caught so deep in her entrancing trap he forgot that he had stopped breathing. It wasn't the first time someone stared at her eyes like that. They'd always say something weird after. Seikan had been listening to the names ever since she joined school at the age of 4 so she didn't really care. She was about to leave when he said-
"N-No..." he stuttered because it left him speechless
"They're beautiful"
She paused dead in her tracks and her eyes went wide but just for a second. She tugged her head lower this time, her confident, cocky smirk had dropped. Nobody had ever said that to her.
"Who are you?" He asked, watching her like she'd vanish otherwise.
"A nobody" she softly said before working her roller shoes again and disappeared into the crowd before he could follow her.
"Bokuto san..."
"Akaashi! Who is she?" He said trying to find her in the crowd again. "Who's that girl?"
"Oh her... she's a transfer from Shiratorizawa. You've heard about her. That's their ace. Seikan. She's the Anubis of the team. They count on her pick them up at the dying moment and she pulls them through. Every single time"
The Anubis, she was. She'd reaped the soul from his corpse already. "Ohhh..." he knew that name. Anyone who's super into volleyball would. "So that's who Seikan is... the name suits her tho"
Seikan was in the same class as Akaashi. 1-5. The teacher even allotted their seats next to each other. Akaashi found her unusually cold. She wouldn't look around, she wouldn't falter, her fingers were rather clean, unlike his carbon stained ones. Sitting beside her for a day made him find out her weakness already. She was a sucker for pink.
People steered clear from her and mostly because of how scary her eyes were. The other part being her rumours from Shiratorizawa. They already judged her as being disrespectful and insubordinate.
Bokuto asked Akaashi about her all day.
"Bokuto san, she's not your type" he flatly said "I don't know if people like that can ever be in a relationship"
"You're too judgy" he elbowed the setter "She's so amazing"
"We have tryouts today" Akaashi reminded him.
"Oh, I can't wait to see her play!"
"She's the talk of the tryouts so I guess we'll have to go early or we can't see her"
The boys' tryouts was minutes away from beginning.
"AKAASHIII SAAAAN!!"
"BOKUTO SAAAAN!!"
Seikan quietly moved away from all the noise only to realise how close she was to the court. She saw the silver haired boy gleam like the sun. Again. They all stood in position to play a set against the school team.
Bokuto was skeptical with all the tall boys around him. His motivation was on an all time low. Only three would be selected from the entire lot and the news suspended his encouragement on a drawstring.
"Bokuto san..." Akaashi said "They're all looking at you"
"Yeah, right" he scoffed as the match began.
Seikan had begun to wonder if the reputed ace even played so well or if all the hype on Bokuto being one of the best aces was just an over emphasis. She was disappointed midway. She folded her hands and decided to get through the rest of the set. She didn't understand why she was expecting better from him. Maybe because of the description of him she heard or the potential she saw in him.
Akaashi eyes scanned the gymnasium in a second and "Psst... Bokuto san..." he said.
"What now, Akaashi??" He sadly scowled.
"Seikan is watching you"
