Seikan couldn't go back to her mother and her brother. She wasn't visibly upset but she wasn't okay either.
"Seikan, what do want for breakfast?" Her father sternly asked.
"I'd like to skip today" she blankly said before picking her bag up to go to school.
"Is everything okay?" Her father blankly asked. Seikan was a mirrored image of her father, if not worse. Always distant but unhesitant.
"No" she said "I've been meaning to ask you this for a while"
"What is it?"
"Why did you cheat on mom?" She didn't sound angry but she really was and even though she wasn't very expressive about it she was vocal enough to let him know how she wasn't okay with the split.
"I don't want to talk about it now"
"Okay" she walked out of the door knowing how that would be the end of their conversation. She was wondering how her mother was holding up on her own with her brother away at Shiratorizawa.
Seikan wanted to distance herself from the problem but knew that running away from it would only cause more problems. Bokuto was concerned by how calm she was throughout the whole thing. "Are you okay, baby?" He stroked his fingers against her hair as held her in embrace.
"Yes, why?" She asked, as much as she wanted to keep it discreet she was clearly floating in his warmth and that soothed her in ways she didn't know she needed.
"Are you guys done?" Akaashi scowled looking at Seikan cuddling with the ace.
"Akaashhiii, she's upset. Let her be!" He sank further into Akaashi's couch "Sei chan, do you want to talk about it?"
"No." She mumbled "But I need to go see mom"
"Let me walk you then" he said "I'm sure she'd be overjoyed to see you again"
Bokuto's words assured her that it would be okat. He behind the gates of her house as she knocked the door. When the door opened, her mother had a much different reaction than what she'd expected. "What are you doing here??" To say she was angry would be an understatement. "And after saying that in court! Why would you even step into these gates??!"
"Okaasan, I never chose a side-"
"It's because you didn't that I don't want to see you again"
Bokuto's heart clenched when he heard her mother say that.
"Okaasan" Seikan softly said "I just wanted to check up on y-"
"Don't act like you care!" Her mother snapped "Go check up on your father if you must, you live with him anyway! Now leave"
"He's upset too. Please talk to him before you conclude that he chea-"
"SEIKAN!" Her mother silenced her "I'm done with how cold he is about everything... and you get all of it from him. Every time I see you it reminds me of him. Even your one yellow eye. I don't want anything that reminds me of him in my life anymore. You made a choice by leaving so please don't come back."
Seikan quickly tugged gets head down and shifted her gaze. She momentarily blamed Bokuto for making her forget how her eyes looked. "I understand. I'm sorry for showing up unannounced" she quietly apologised before she left.
"Sei chan!! SEI CHAN!!" Bokuto couldn't just watch her lifelessly walk back to her father's place. "I'm sorry that happened" even he was in tears. Her eyes had dimmed, like they always were before she met him "Yeah?"
"Why didn't you tell me anything!?" He woefully said "Darn it! I should've known this. I should've-"
"Bokuto san, it's not your fault." She was the one consoling him somehow "It's alright"
"How are you okay with all this?" He asked "You shouldn't keep bottling things"
"I'm okay" she said "You look like mess though"
He knew it was a bad idea as soon as she invited him in and realised that her dad wasn't home. He looked around her room. She never had any pictures in her room. It was minimal and mostly plain but still spoke volumes about her. "Sei chan, it isn't healthy what you're doing" Bokuto had gotten serious.
"Why?"
"You're supposed to feel things. You're supposed to let yourself know that it's okay to feel things, especially when they're this bad!" He said.
"Well, it does feel weird. I've never seen Okaasan so angry and my brother isn't talking to me either. My dad doesn't talk much and-"
Bokuto couldn't stop himself from pulling her into a hug "I'm here, princess. I'll be here, I promise" he whispered. "Now look at me. What did I tell you about staring at your feet all the time? You're so beautiful" his thumb stroked her face as he took light, painful breaths. "I love you" he confessed before he kissed and she couldn't stop herself from falling for him even more than she already had. She kissed him back while her hands found their way into his frosted hair. He moved to the soft spot in her neck and marked her, making her gasp and grip his shoulder harder. They didn't realise how messy the sheets were until there was a knock on her door.
"Otosama is back" her eyes went wide.
"Seikan, are you in there?" He asked from outside her room.
"Yes" she answered.
"I need to talk to you" he said and she calmly looked around trying to hide him somewhere.
"I'll be out in a moment" she said and took a deep breath trying to run her mind. Bokuto quickly held her sides and pecked her cheek "I have to leave, babygirl. I'll see you soon"
"How?" She whispered.
"Don't worry about it. Talk to your dad, okay?" He said and she nodded before he kissed her one last time. "Cover your hickeys, princess" he smirked before he looked out of her window and jumped onto the ledge right below it, hopping onto the compound wall and balanced himself, walking all the way towards the end. In no time he was already back on the road and waving at her. She smiled waving back at him before hurrying to cover her marks and face her father.
Bokuto was the only thing that kept her from losing her composure and she was more attached to him than she thought she would be. Seikan kept thinking about how her mom snapped at her. Her mother wasn't like that before, she'd never snapped at Seikan. She'd never been so mad at her.
Seikan assured herself that the next day would be better, she was even confident about it since she'd always have Bokuto by her side. She woke up to her phone ringing off the hook and groggily received it. "Hello?"
"Hello? Is this Ms. Seikan?"
"This is she"
"Bokuto Kotaro just met with an accident and you're listed as one of his emergency contacts"
