Bokuto's grandmother was furious about his first day mishap "the twig bITCH DID WHAT TO MY TARO???" She yelled over the phone.

"She won't bother him again, I made sure of it" Seikan was still mad about it. She was waiting for Bokuto to change for practice

"Ah, what would I do without you?" His grandma pouted. "I'm glad he has you with him"

"It's okay" she was lost in thought "We have to see if he can play"

Seikan was worried he wouldn't remember how to play volleyball either and that would shatter him. Volleyball was something he put his best efforts in.

Akaashi was just as anxious "Bokuto san, I'll toss the ball-"

"Sei chan..." he hopefully said and she took over with an assuring smile on her face. When she tossed the ball, her worries vanished with the look his eyes bore. Even with all his memories gone, his eyes still shone the same way it did every time it saw a toss. When he rather involuntarily spiked a terrifying line shot she sighed in relief. A small smile crept upto her face as she congratulated him on successfully clearing his very first obstacle "Looks like you still have your muscle memory intact"

Bokuto always relied on Seikan. Every time he sat in class amidst the strangers he'd nervously fidget because she wasn't around. When Seikan trusted him with Akaashi for a day and called in sick, Bokuto almost broke down with all the anxiety. The news about Bokuto's memory was now known to everyone in school, making it easier for people to play pranks on him.

"Bokutoooo" a problem child from another class snickered walking up to him.

"Do I know you?" Bokuto asked

"Bokuto! How could you forget me? I'm your best friend, Shino!" He smiled before opening a box for him "Say, squid and peanut butter was your favourite"

Bokuto looked at the disastrous combination in disgust. Shino held in his giggles and watched Bokuto hesitantly almost touch it. The air around them suddenly changed and he soon realised that the stench wasn't from the squid anymore but from a dark aura that told him this was a bad idea. He turned his head in the direction of the frigid wind and in the very end of the corridor saw the heterochromatic eyes pierce his very soul in the coldest possible way.

She knew she was the best person to keep people from bullying Bokuto, she used her bad reputation to achieve exactly that. She didn't care if it got worse. She'd do it for Bokuto over and over again.

"B-Bokuto... never mind, something i-important came up I have to go"

"Shino, hey!" He ran away before Bokuto could even stop him. Not realising what happened there Bokuto turned around to see Seikan standing behind him with a smile on her face "Gomen, Bokuto san..." she said "Sorry I'm late"

"I missed you" he instantly warmed up to her like a toddler to its parent.

"Will you come with me to the festival today?" She asked wondering if that would help him remember something.

"I'll go wherever you want me to, Sei chan" his anxiety had vanished.

Through the whole evening, she took him to every single corner of the festival trying to get him to remember at least one small thing.

"Ahh, Sei chan! This is so beautiful!"

"I've never been here" she nervously said "I don't like crowded places"

"You didn't have to bring me here" he tightened his hold on her hand

"Obaasan said you liked going to the winter festival" she guiltily muttered.

"She did?" He had a small smile on his face, a grateful one.

"Let me get you something to eat" she said, sceptically eyeing the crowded stall "Stay right here and don't move!"

Bokuto's eyes were fixed on her as she hesitantly made way to the crowd, a proud feeling engulfing his chest as he saw her evolve before his very eyes. That was until a tall figure with a trench coat covered his view. "Koutaro?"

"Sorry, mister. Do I know you?" Bokuto asked with an awkward smile on his face.

"Wh-" the man looked shocked "Do you hate me so much that you pretend to not know me anymore?"

"Bokuto s-" Seikan stopped when she saw the man talking to Koutaro, with five others tall figures that looked like his bodyguards.

The snack from her hand dropped when she realised who it was and swiftly moved to his side "Kou san, we should go"

"Ah, that's no way to treat your father now, is it?" His gruff, scary voice was the last thing she wanted to hear.

"Father?" He looked at her for confirmation and she nodded. Seikan knew all about his father. She knew how he left Koutaro and his mom, how his grandma refused to bring little Koutaro up in his father's ways, all of it.

"What did you do to him?"

"Why are you here? You left them, why are you here now?!" Seikan wouldn't let Koutaro deal with this. She knew how gullible he could get.

"This is between my son and I. It's none of your concer-"

"Sorry to burst your bubble but he's my responsibility" she glared at him with no hesitation in her tone.

"Sei chan..." Koutaro softly asked her "Is that scary man really my dad?"

"He is..."

"Koutaro... you're being disrespectful. You lived with me half your whole life!" his father snapped.

"Don't be mean to him! He really doesn't remember you" she got in between them.

"What did you do to my son??!"

"Sir..." Koutaro was awkward about it "Please leave her be. I don't remember you and I'm sorry. It's all my fault." He sensed her discomfort "We should head back home now"

"Nonsense! You're going no where! You've lost your memory and she's taking care of you?? I will not have this!" His father pushed her to the side and gripped his arm "Let's go home"

"You can't take him with y-" one of the tall guys pulled her back "He doesn't know you! He can't go with you"

"Koutaro... tell her not make a scene please, I don't want to attract a crowd"

Koutaro was livid, his eyes were glued on the hands that restrained her "Leave her alone"

"You're coming with me then" he scoffed "I'll let her go if you come with me"

"Are you threatening me?"

"You certainly don't remember me but when you do you'll wish you listened to me. I've been trying to find you for a while now and you're coming home with me"

Something about him was intimidating, Koutaro listened to him not wanting to take any chances.

"Go sit in the car" he said. And when Koutaro was out of sight, "Tendou..." his father said.

"Kagami san..." her voice was coaxed with pain, like the snow covering the ground in winter. "He'll break apart..."

"Then I'll fix him. Like I should've years ago" his father smiled.

She swallowed her pride and said something she never had before "Please..." her head tugged low "Please let him go. He doesn't recognise anyone else." She pleaded.

"You're pathetic." He said "Just like your father. I spared your family for him too. Now you're butting into my son's life while he's at his worst. He's become weak, weak to all this nonsense. I'll make him so strong he won't even spare a look at you"

"Please let him go" was all she could softly say. She knew she'd lost when they left with Koutaro. She fell on her knees, the cold snow biting into her skin as she lifelessly dialled his grandmother's number.

"Obaasan?" She barely knew what she was saying "Kagami san took Koutaro with him"
