WERE #1 in #animefanfiction WHAT???? Thank you so much 🥺🥺♥️😭😭

Satori mentally hit himself several times for not paying more attention to his sister "You're more different than I thought you were" he said watching her swiftly solve the 5x5 Rubik's cube.

"How did you learn this?" He shrieked when she tossed the filly solved cube at him "I figured it out" she blankly said.

"Sei Sei, I didn't know you were a genius. I just thought you were a nerdy prick"

"I still am" she flatly smiled.

Throughout the winter they got closer (in Seikan's terms) and in the terms of an ordinarily prudent man, they just hung out a little more than they used to.

"Ninjin, let take the longer route home" she softly said and the dog took the lead, she was Seikan's constant, mostly because Ninjin would never judge her. Her fur was now shiny and there was a delightful spring in her steps.

"SEI CHAN???!!"

She clamped her eyes shut for a second "Why now..." she mumbled to herself before turning around.

"I HAVEN'T SEEN YOU AROUND! YOU DIDN'T TAKE MY CALLS AND I COULDN'T SHOW UP AT YOUR PLACE UNINVITED!"

"He sure is a nice friend" Satori sang.

"YOU JUST DISAPPEARED!"

"I had work" She barely answered.

"Ah!! You should've told me!"

"I did now"

He knew she wasn't herself but couldn't tell her anything more since Satori was there too.

"HEY HEYY HEYYYY!! NINJIN!!" He petted her. "Do you want to come over sometime??!!"

"She looks amazing, Sei chan!!!" He looked at her fidgeting with the leash.

Satori narrowed his eyes at her "Bokuto, you should hang out with us. We were taking Ninjin to the park"

"Niisan, he's busy w-"

"ARIGATO!!!" Bokuto had missed her too much to be polite and decline.

"LETS GO!!!" Satori and Ninjin were already racing towards the park but just before Seikan followed suit she felt her hand tug.

"Sei chan, you've been ignoring me lately, did I upset you?"

She retracted her hand "No"

He watched her hand coldly slip from his and his eyes traced her as she followed her brother.

"Sei chan!! Tell me what's wrong! You're being so cold" he caught up with her.

"I always am" she scoffed.

"No" he said and her legs threatened to stop. "You've never been cold. Not to me. Not even before we were friends! And... It's okay, I'll figure it out. I just need a small hint and-"

"You shouldn't!" She stopped running and he did too, just a few steps ahead of her.

"I'll ask you this question one more time" his worried face was replaced with a serous one "Am I ever on your mind? Maybe even just for a second?"

"No" she gave him the same answer she did the last time. He wasn't on her mind for just a second, he'd never left. She missed him alright, she missed him the loudest on her most silent days. But would she knew she'd hurt him at some point so she stepped back. As much as she wanted to fall sleep in his warm embrace she also wanted him to forget her so she'd never hurt him.

"You'll only hurt yourself" she said. Little did she realise she was hurting herself too, and with the disguise of being numb.

"Sei chan, don't shut me out"

"That's all I've ever done" she almost faltered.

"It's just me..." he sounded like he was dying without air to breathe "Why are you so different now? I must've done something stupid"

"It's nothing"

"Then go out with me like you used to. Come home with me. Let me make you the ramen you like. Obaasan made a sweater for you! She asks for you every day" he sounded so sad she melted like butter on a searing pan.

"I'm not your type of person."

"I know. We're very different" he sighed "I'm too annoying, you don't talk a lot. I'm not as smart, you're a genius. I have a heart, you have a bigger one..."

He knew she was a bad idea, but he loved the bad idea more than he thought he would.

Her eyes lulled like a dying flame "Don't try to get inside my head"

"Sei ch-"

"It's too dark for you" she said with a stark, looming confidence that burnt his soul. "And you're too nice a person for that"

"Sei chan..." his heart broke "You're not okay"

She lowered her head to hide her face from his view, like he could read her mind through her irises. She wrapped her arms around herself because she felt the cold surprisingly grow, seeping down her skin, freezing her nerves. But only a moment later her hands began to feel warm and when she realised it was Bokuto, she couldn't even step away. She missed being in his arms. "You don't have to tell me anything" his voice was so soothing to hear.

"I'm fine" she spoke through the lump in her throat.

"You're not" he held her closer "Your hands are shaking"

They played with her dog all evening. Seikan scowled when she saw her Sensei call. "Excuse me"

"Say..." Satori was curious "How close are you two?"

"She's my best friend" he said. "I hope you don't mind"

"Ah, not really! She's not had a lot of friends before so I'm kinda intrigued" he tossed the ball again so Ninjin could fetch

"She's a little hard to approach but she's very nice. She tries to run away from things too" he laughed "She smiles like a two year old and has  the kindest heart. She's nicer to me than she is to Akaashi, so I'd like to assume that I'm her best friend too!"

And with the way he spoke, Satori just knew it. "I know she's not the best person" he said "She might be younger than I am but she's taught me a lot of things. She'd play volleyball with me when nobody else would. She ate lunch with me when everyone else ran away. She wasn't very nice but I'd say she qualifies as a good person. So here's a hypothetical situation..." his tone changed to a more threatening one "...if I heard about anyone messing with her or trying to break her down, wouldn't it be fair for me to just... I don't know, kill them??? Just asking. I assure you they'll die a quick death too"

"Y-Y-Yes, sir" Bokuto felt that ring down his spine.

Her light coloured eyes were darker than even Akaashi's stark black ones and still, she somehow managed to give him a whole lot of butterflies.

"Why did Murakami Sensei call?"

"He needs my notes" she rolled her eyes.

Bokuto offered to accompany her to school the next day, he didn't want to miss an opportunity to be with her.

"BOKKUN! Where are you headed???" Kiara came running.

"I'll take your leave now" Seikan shrugged stepping away.

"Is that why you're mad at me????" Bokuto guessed and he'd guessed it right. "Come here, baby" he took her hand.

"It's okay" Seikan said trying not to give away what she was feeling "We're still friends"

Kiara froze when she heard Bokuto.

"But I don't want to be your friend!! I want to kiss you where it hurts"
