Someday Soon: Part Two

I stood in York's arms as he caressed my hair. His lips pressed against my head. I felt safe in York's arms, plus I had them all around me. Ace then spoke.

"We have to do something about Ren. We can not let him do this to Harper."

"I know Ace. If I could just stop him for a few minutes, maybe I can talk him down without getting into another fight."

Kyo looked at me then took my hand.

"I hate to think what might have happened if we did not stop him in time."

York then looked at me. He spoke softly as he caressed my cheek.

"What do you want to do, sweetheart?"

"I do not think he really wants to hurt me... He is just so caught up in his love for me and does not think. I need to try and talk him down... Maybe then, he will see what he is doing is wrong?"

York looked at me then kissed my head with a heavy sigh.

"Okay, my lady, we will hold off the police for now... But if he does that again, I will not think twice."

I nodded as he pulled my face up to his and kissed my lips softly. We all heard someone knock on the door and call out for York. He sighed once again then spoke softly to me.

"I will not be long, stay with Ace and Kyo until you are ready to go back down... Unless you want to stop the engagement ball for tonight?

"No, I will be fine. I have Ace and Kyo here as you said... It is our night and I will not let Ren spoil that."

York smiles at me then kisses me again before he leaves. Ace then takes me into his arms and sits me on the bed. Kyo sat down on the other side next to me.

"Are you sure you are okay, my treasure?"

"Yes. I really thought it was York that asked me to come to the room... You did too, right Kyo?"

I looked at Kyo and he nodded. I think he felt bad for letting me go alone. I turned to Kyo and held his hand.

"Please do not feel bad... You heard what the Doorman told us and you had no reason to think he was not York like I didn't... How did you know something was wrong anyway?"

"After I left you, I walked back into the ballroom. I noticed Ace was talking with York... He returned after we got some air... That is when I knew something was off. I told York and here we are."

"Thank you, Kyo... I do not know what I would do without you... Or you Ace."

I looked at Ace and he brought up my hand to his lips and kissed it softly. He looked at me with loving eyes. I squeezed both of their hands gently.

"Okay, there is an engagement ball waiting for you... Are you ready to go back?"

Kyo smiled at me and I nodded back at him. They both straightened out my dress as they pulled me up from the bed. They both offered their arms, so I took them both as we all walked back down to the ballroom together.

I mingled amongst the guests as we all laughed and ate fine food and drank beautiful champagne. Kyo and Ace were not far behind me and always on the lookout just in case Ren showed up again. They were like my very own bodyguards when York was not with me. I turned around and smiled at them both. York soon joined me, but they still watched over me.

York pulled me to the side of the room and with a smile, he whispered to me.

"I really do have a surprise for you... Let me show you."

I smiled at him as he took my hand then laced his fingers with mine. York took me into the living room. I pushed the door open and York followed in behind. I screamed out with excitement as I saw my dad and Mr Juliano sitting there waiting for me.
