Serendipity: Unearth My Fate

Chapter 1

"Don't worry about me, love. Okay lang ako rito and I assure you that I won't get bored here kasi kasama ko naman sina Julia at Delancy rito." I smiled as if he was able to see my smile. "How about you? Have you already finished all the requirements you need to pass?"

[Not yet, love. Ang dami ko pang kailangang tapusin. Para ngang hindi nababawasan. This is fucking torture!] he complained and I can feel that his face started to crease.

I laughed softly, making sure he wouldn't know that I laughed at him. "That's the consequence of you choosing your career. Kailangan mong panindigan 'yan, love. Kaya mo 'yan!" I cheer him up.

[This isn't funny anymore,] he said. [Mamaya na lang tayo mag-usap, love. Tatapusin ko na 'to. Ingat ka riyan, huh? I love you!] He immediately ended the call without allowing me to answer his 'I love you.'

Hmp! Sometimes he's being unfair. He's making me grouch.

But on second thought, I managed to draw a smile on my face. Ever since we've been in a relationship, palagi akong kinikilig every time na sinasabihan niya 'ko ng 'I love you.' Even though it's normal naman na magsabihan ng 'I love you' ang isang couple, still, when it comes to Eli, hindi ko maiwasang kiligin kahit na dapat masanay na 'ko roon.

We've been together for almost one year --- and I didn't expect that our relationship would come that far. Parang kahapon lang no'ng sinimulan akong ligawan ni Eli, tapos ngayon almost one year na kami.

'Woah, time flies so fast.'

Anyway, I was here at the reception ng wedding ng Tita ni Julia. Delancy and I were invited to come here and dapat talaga ay kasama namin si Eli ngayon, but unfortunately, he was busy finishing a bunch of requirements he had to pass in order to pass the first semester.

Due to his career as a singer and an actor, he barely spends his time studying. His mom wants him to finish a degree. That's why Eli is working very hard to graduate, though it's quite tough because his time was too spent on showbiz. But I believe in him and will always support him no matter what happens.

"Sinabihan na naman siguro 'to ni Eli ng I LOVE YOU or kaya ng I MISS YOU kaya ganyan 'yang makangiti si Magi," I heard Julia spoke as she shook her head.

Akalain niyong lumabas na nga 'ko ng venue para hindi nila 'ko makita na may kausap at para na rin magkausap kami nang maayos ni Eli, pero ang lakas talaga ng pakiramdam nitong mga kaibigan ko, e. All I want is to have a private conversation with my boyfriend yet they can't stand to eavesdrop on us.

Wala talaga akong bagay na kayang itago sa mga 'to, e. Even my private life, they really want that to invade.

"Curious lang talaga 'ko, hindi ka ba napapagod na kiligin sa kanya?" Delancy suddenly asked.

Ang seryoso ng mukha niya kaya I assume na seryoso siya sa itinatanong niya.

"Kapag in love ka, hindi mo nararamdaman na pagod ka or mapapagod ka sa isang bagay kasi nakasanayan mo na 'yon, e," maikling tugon ko.

I have nothing to prove to her, 'cause I believe she could be able to answer her question as she experienced being in love. That's how people learned, wherein they have to suffer the pain before learning the lesson. And of course, when you learn a lesson, that'll help you to grow but if not, I pity you.

Aaminin ko na hindi ang kagaya ni Eli ang tipo ko sa isang lalaki, at inaamin ko na umaasa pa rin ako na makikita ko ulit iyong first love ko. The first guy who taught me how to love at my young age. The guy who taught me what the word 'love' really means.

Oo, gusto ko ulit siyang makita at makausap pero hindi naman ibig sabihin no'n, e kapag nagkita kami ulit ng lalaking iyon ay ipagpapalit ko na si Eli sa kaniya. All I want is to meet him once again to know how is he at kung ano ang pinagkakaabalahan niya. After all, mayroon din kaming pinagsamahan, so I thought of forgetting about him was too selfish decision.
