"Pinagod ako ng mga batang iyon. Mga boss ko nga sa trabaho, utak ko ang pinapagod. Sila naman, katawan ang pinagod sa akin!" Nasa loob na kami ng van paalis sa lugar na 'yon nang magsimulang mag-rant si Harris. "Halata bang haggard ako?"

"Gwapo ka naman," ani Warren. "Kahit haggard ka, at least gwapo ka."

They're sitting in front of me. That's why I'm able to see how Harris pushed Warren's shoulder sa harap ng upuan niya.

"Edi sinabi mo ring haggard ako!"

"Lahat naman tayo!" muttered Delancy. "Pwede mo namang iligo 'yan pagkauwi, e."

"Hindi porke inaaway ko 'yang jowa mo, may karapatan ka ng makisabat." He's starting a fight again.

I just let out a deep and heavy sigh. Pinili kong ipikit na lang ang mga mata ko to find a place inside my imagination where I could be at serene.

Lunod rin ang sarili ko kagaya nila. I am also tired; physically and emotionally. It was a great experience to make those children happy. And to have the opportunity to hang out with them was a big pleasure of mine.

"It was a long, tiring day, so better sleep for now." Just like that, I opened my eyes as I heard him talk.

"How could I be able to sleep at peace? Sometimes, I regret belonging to this circle of friends. They're so noisy!" I said, irritatedly.

"Ang sabihin mo, iritado ka lang dahil sa kagwapuhan ko, Julia! Hindi ko kasalanan maging gwapo. Ang malaking kasalanan, e 'yong kaiinggitan mo ang perpekto kong mukha!"

"Kupal ka rin, 'no? Bakit ako maiinggit sa iyo? Sino ka ba? Nananahimik ako rito, ako na naman ang pinupuntirya mo!" Julia shouted.

"Ang ingay niyo naman diyan sa likod. Ibangga ko kaya 'tong sasakyan natin, gusto niyo?" asked Alec who was the one driving the van.

"May inggitera kasi rito, Lec---"

"Alam kong mga pagod kayo, pero itahimik niyo na lang mga bunganga niyo. Sakit niyo sa tenga."

"Yuwi's right," pagsang-ayon dito ni Eli.

"Basta ako, tahimik lang ako na nanonood rito ng away. Popcorn na lang talaga ang kulang, e," Israel said.

"See how nosy they are?" I rolled my eyes before closing my eyes again.

Wala akong narinig na response mula kay Dylan, but only a gesture from him. Naramdaman ko ang mga palad niya na tumakip sa tenga ko. Just like that, I immediately opened my eyes to see what stupidness he was doing.

"Use my palm to make you relax." He smiled. "Somehow, it will lessen the noise you're hearing right now."

Seconds had passed before I averted my gaze at him. I will tell a lie if I won't say I didn't feel thrilled by the words he uttered and by the sweet gestures he made.

Truly, he is still that guy I've met before --- so many years have passed, but he's still the sweetest guy I've known, so far...

I thought of surrendering sa pakikipagtitigan sa kanya. I closed my eyes habang dinadama ang init ng kanyang mga palad sa aking tenga.

Bahagya akong napangiti.

In this life full of disappointments, I'm glad that I found a guy where I could find the contentment I always sought for.

Expectations are, what they say, a trade-off of disappointments. Never expect it if you don't like to be disappointed because one's life has so many flaws and failures.

But on my account, we only disappoint ourselves when we are expecting more on that thing --- forgetting to feel contentment with your first expectation.
