Explanation: I was going to update on new years but I felt like I would rather hang out with my family instead bc there was pizza rolls.

Jkjk I just felt like I wanted family time and after new years (I'm just getting straight to the point) I realized it was time for me to update my Hayes fanfic so I was like oh shit oops.

And then afterwards I was having rehearsals for my dance concert and my performance for my dance concert and I was pretty worn out

but onwards to the chapter!

December 31 3:00 ; ashley

I look at the mirror one last time to see my loosely curled hair. I push a small strand of hair behind my ear and I feel content with my hair. It wasn't the frizzy curls I never liked, but instead was unfrizzy and curled.

I slip on my dress and place four inch heels on my feet. I slightly wobble while walking towards the other side of my room for a little bit more practice. I haven't worn heels ever since October, but I did regain my balance a minute later.

I look in my full body mirror and I see a stranger wearing makeup and a dress and heels. Today, I will not let the little things bother me anymore. Its going to be a new year in a matter of hours and I need to be a strong confident person.

The doorbell rings and I grab my purse that had my phone, a granola bar, a couple dollar bills and my key to the house.

I walk down the stairs and the doorbell rings again. The clicking of my heels echoed the entire house. Well I mean, I was the only one home until now. Brandon went to one of his old high school friend's party, and my parents went to a work party.

I open the door to see Matthew wearing a suite and tie. Gosh he looks even more attractive with that on.

"Hey look you grew." Matthew says and smiles.

"Don't mock me." I say and push his shoulder back.

"Well, you look absolutely stunning tonight." Matthew says and I lock the house door.

I instantly blush at his words and mutter a small thank you for his compliment. "You look handsome tonight." He says and Matthew whips his head around where it isn't facing mine.

Matthew runs to his truck and opens the passenger door for me and I thank him before climbing into his car. Matthew enters his car and he starts it.

"By the way, we should stay over night because the party doesn't end till three-o-clock and I promised Hayes to help him clean up." I say.

"Alright I have to tell my parents. You ask them because they always say yes to you." He says and hands me his phone.

I unlock his phone and put his pin in and I dial mrs. Espinosa's number. "Hi Mrs. Espinosa I was wondering if Matthew can stay over night at my cousins house. Its going to end pretty late anyways." I explain.

"Oh, um sure. If there's anything you need call me." She says.

We bid our good byes shortly after and I end the call. "She said yes."

"Told you so." Matthew says and chuckles.

"Oh my god, I'm so glad that you guys made it!" Jess says and hugs the both of us. "Happy new years." She smiles.

"Shut up. New years isn't till midnight dummy." Hayes says and rolls his eyes.

"Well its new years eve so why the fuck not?" She says and scowls at him.
