Chapter 25

- "I thought we said tight and personal Cooper."

- "Oh come on, there's no cool party without the cheerleaders and the football players."

I sigh then stand up and head to the kitchen. Everything was perfect up until people like Marla and Jacob started showing up. I'm so mad at Cooper for doing this. She knows that I hate this type of parties. At least the music's good, thanks to Isobel.

I drink a cup of water then head back to the living room with everybody. Some people wish me a happy birthday and I smile at them.

- "For how long will this be going on?" I ask Sarah.

- "A few hours."

- "I can't believe that Cooper did this."

- "I'm sorry Sky. We'll do something tomorrow, just the four of us."

- "Is Connor here yet?"

- "Yeah. I saw him with Cooper a few minutes ago."

- "Okay. I'll be right back."

I wander around the house, to get a little look at who came. Some people started dancing. I roll my eyes and check the time, 7 pm. I hope it'll be over soon.

- "Hey, birthday girl." Cooper heads to me with Connor.

- "Happy birthday" He smiles.

- "Thanks."

- "Do you like it?" She asks.

- "Yeah, it's really cool." I don't want to hurt her, she did all this for me.

- "Oh my God, it's time for the cake!" I look behind me and see two guys from the football team bringing a big chocolate cake to the living room. "Hey! Be careful." She screams and goes running towards them.

Connor smiles while looking at her then tells me:

- "Well, let's go."

We head to the living room where everybody applauds then start singing happy birthday to me. I stand up beside the cake with 17 candles on it. I smile while everybody's singing and applauding then I blow the candles.

They start cutting out the cake and I take a few pictures for Instagram. Cooper hands me a piece of cake in a plastic plate then I head outside to eat in the calm and clear my head a little.

The sky is so clear tonight. We should've had the party in the backyard. I hear a cracking behind me and turn immediately. I find Tyler standing 3 meters away from me. He has to stop showing up out of nowhere all the time.

- "You scared me." I frown.

He looks at me from head to toe but doesn't say anything.

- "What are you doing here?"

- "I just..." He looks down. "I found these and..." He gets a little package out of his jacket's pocket.

I make a few steps towards him.

- "What is it?" He hands me the package and I take it.

I put my plastic plate on the ground then scan the little decorated box. I open it slowly and my eyes widen instantly. I find three stunning necklaces. They're three delicate chains with space themed subjects. One's a key shaped like Saturn, the other is a planet with stars, and the last one is just a planet in a ring. They are so beautiful.

- "Wow." That's all that comes out.

- "You don't like it?" I think it's the first time that Tyler isn't really confident about something.
