"hyein? hyein?! wake up! hyein!! it's just a dream hyein!! wake up!"
hyein's eyes immediately shot opened as her body shot upwards making her sit up. thankfully, chenle was quick enough to move backwards so their heads won't bump together. chenle glanced worriedly at hyein who was trying to calm her breathing as her chest rose up and down
"was it a nightmare?" chenle softly ask, he was a bit hesitated to ask but he wanted to help calm her down.
it was already night time and both of them were in their own rooms, asleep. but suddenly chenle woke up to a loud scream outside his room, he became alarmed and went out of his room to see who was screaming
he doesn't know if his mother heard the screams or not, her room is in the other side of the house so there's a chance she didn't hear it.
once he got out of his room, he was surprised to hear it from hyein's room. he immediately slammed the door open to see a sleeping hyein with her body moving around as cries left her lips.
so he quickly ran towards her side and tried to wake her up by shaking her body and calling her name. seeing and hearing hyein's broken cries while saying, "don't leave me" repeatedly in front of him made his heart ached badly. he wondered what hyein experienced to get a dream or perhaps dreams like that
besides hearing hyein saying "don't leave me", he also heard her calling a figure - he didn't want to ask hyein, he will wait for her to tell him about it but if she doesn't want to, it's also fine for chenle
hyein grew silent as her face was frowning the whole time, she began to fidget with her fingers as she debated on telling him or not - it's a topic hyein couldn't talk about easily
chenle noticed her quiet but rather unsure demeanor and only nods at her - catching her attention. "it's okay.. if you don't want to tell me - i won't force you.."
hyein's lips curled upwards slightly as she silently thanked him for how considerate he was. chenle lightly exhaled as his eyes went towards the clock on the wall, his eyes were squinted slightly because how dark her room is causing him to unable see it clearly
"you should go back to sleep, i'll wait for you there" chenle pointed at sofa not far from her as he waited for her approval. chenle smiled at seeing the girl nod before gently pushing the girl's body to lay down on the bed and pulled the covers on top of her
"sleep well okay? i'll be right here" hyein was thankful that the covers covered her already cheeks not to mention, the darkness in her room also helped a lot.
chenle gave her another smile before walking towards the sofa and laid down on it. he stared at the ceiling as he waited for time to pass by, he decided to go back to his room after she's deep asleep but then he also thought it wouldn't be bad to just sleep here, in case hyein has another nightmare
