"hey, you okay?" hyein raised her head and turns around to see sowon staring worriedly at her
immediately shaking away her thoughts, hyein nodded her head and wore an assuring smile so she wouldn't worry her furthermore. sowon was a bit unsure on whether to believe it or not but knowing her best friend, she'll open up if she wants to
"okay, call me if something's wrong - i'll be sitting over there" sowon pointed at the bleachers behind her - not far from where the players' benches are
hyein nodded and sowon took it as her cue to start going up the stairs towards her seat, seeing her friend walking away - hyein immediately returned her focus towards her thoughts from before.
she didn't notice that someone took notice of her and sowon's conversation. he rose a brow at her quiet state before deciding to approach her
feeling a figure standing beside her, hyein looks up to see chenle twirling his headband around his finger. since she's the team's manager, she thought the male needed her help with something,
"do you need somethi-" "what's wrong?"
slightly taken back from his words, hyein blinked repeatedly as if she was slowly trying to process his words. seeing her frozen state made chenle sigh before crouching down in front of her and raised his hand to touch her forehead
hyein started to malfunction from his action and tried to blurt out any words possible but all that came out were just stutters and grammatical errors.
chenle's voice trails off as he tried to think of what's wrong, he placed both of his hands on each side of her cheeks and lightly moved her head down
his action made her surprised by how close the proximity of their faces and of course, that just made hyein even more malfunctioned.
chenle's eyes scanned her whole face and when his eyes landed to her lips that were parted slightly made him still. hyein didn't dare to look at his face so she kept her eyes elsewhere with the nerve bubbling up inside of her causing one of her habits to appear
"don't" hyein froze and slowly looks towards chenle to see a stern look on his face, feeling confused on what meant - she asked, "don't what?"
chenle gulped down the dryness that was starting to appear in his throat before muttering, "don't bite your lip, it'll bleed"
"oh" she followed his words and stopped biting her bottom lip, chenle diverted her eyes elsewhere as he let out a small sigh before releasing his hands from her face and stood up.
he cleared his throat before awkwardly placing a hand on her head, "guess, the problem is this"
not catching what he meant until a few seconds made hyein scoffed in disbelief, she swatted his hand away as she glared at him which made the male chuckle
