Author's POV
Back and forth, he paces since the bright sun rose in the morning. An hour had slipped by.
All wonders whirl around his mind, but no answers given; it feels like a mental puzzle to him.
All Jin yearns for now is to return to those carefree days where the only concerns were who would reign as the king of ddakji and who was the mightiest in Beyblade.
Walking back and forth in his room, contemplating what to do for the day.
It's not that he has nothing to do. It's mor like, there are countless tasks to tackle throughout the day, but he knows he can't address them all at once. He must choose wisely and manage his time efficiently.
He needs to prepare himself mentally and physically.
Lost in his thoughts, he doesn't even register the knocks on the door.
"Hyung? Are you alive?" Hoseok's head pops in, finally capturing Seokjin's attention.
"Uh... Yeah. Unfortunately," Jin responds.
Hoseok gasps loudly, shaking the room as he settles onto Jin's bed and huffs. His eyes follow Jin's pacing movements back and forth.
"What's on your mind? Have you been at this since earlier? I deadass thought you were deceased."
Jin remains silent, engrossed in his thoughts, hoping to find clarity within his mind that will reflect in his reality.
Oh how lazy he is and unmotivated to seek solutions actively, Jin longs to do nothing but sit, sleep, eat, and repeat. Despite having indulged in 27 hours of sleep, he still feels tired.
"Right. I should start with that. Hand me my phone," Jin requested, reaching out to Hoseok, who obligingly passed it to him.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm going to call Taetae. I think he can help me," Jin explained as Hoseok pouted.
"So now you're relying on him? Am I no longer in the picture? Are you going to leave me now?"
"What? Hobi, no. You know I would never do that to you. You'll always hold a special place in my heart. You're the best," Jin reassured him.
"You sure?"
Seokjin smiled gently, moving to sit beside Hoseok on the bed. He wrapped his arm around Hoseok's shoulders, drawing him close.
"Hobi, even if Taehyung becomes incredibly special to me one day, I will never forget you. We may not be related by blood, but our minds are connected. I've always considered you like my little brother. I would never cast aside someone who has shared in both my sorrows and joys from the beginning. Having a boyfriend, a new friend, or even a husband won't change our bond. You know me inside out. You know me best. I'm here for the long haul. Unless, of course, you pull a disappearing act like that asshole who left without a word. How stupid was I to wait for him. You and Taehyung have truly been my guiding lights. It's because of you both that I'm on the path to happiness, hand in hand with my current boyfriend. I can't thank you enough, Hobi.
But I also want you to open up to me. Share your struggles. Don't hide, please. Your challenges won't burden me just because you confide in me. No. That's not how our friendship works. We support each other through thick and thin. You're no stranger to me, and I'm no stranger to you. We've built sandcastles together. If they get washed away by the sea, we'll build bigger and stronger ones together again."
After that lengthy monologue, which i myself the author got tired of reading, Seokjin heard a sniffle.
"That... Was so... Cringe but beautiful," Hoseok burst out crying full on exaggeration. Turning towards the older man and planting a wet kiss on his cheek. Jin pushed him away, wiping his cheek with the blanket.
