Yoongi's POV

FLASHBACK

I returned from the washroom and headed to the kitchen to fetch drinks for both of us, a tune escaping my lips as I went about the task.

My spirits were high, but everything took a sharp turn as I entered the living room where he was seated.

"Jiminie?"

At the sound of my voice, he rose from the couch, his bloodshot eyes locking onto mine, radiating fury and sadness. The intensity of his gaze filled me with a sense of dread, casting a shadow over everything in that moment. I felt a wave of loathing wash over me as I witnessed the impact of the misunderstanding.

I didn't expect that a simple miscommunication would spiral into such miscommunication, leading him to shut me out. He hates me for that. Our once harmonious relationship now strained by this single misconception, yet I remained surprisingly calm, knowing it was rooted in a misunderstanding.

"Don't. Jiminie. Me," he growled under his breath, his grip tightening around my phone.

Approaching him, I set the mugs down on the coffee table and tried to reach out, only to be met with his resistance as he moved away, avoiding me at all cost. I stopped, sensing his need for space.

"No. I don't get it. Why are you acting this way all of a sudden? Just moments ago, we were all loving, our usual selves. Now, you're avoiding me like I've cheated on you or something," I voiced my confusion, seeking to bridge the growing divide between us.

"YES! And that's exactly what it is, Min Yoongi! You cheated on me with him? I thought you informed me that you're just partners for some kind of school project!"

"What are you saying? You know I will never cheat on you. How can I? When I'm truly in love with you. You know how I will choose you over everything," I tried to reason with him, my voice soft and pleading. However, he only scoffed at my words, dismissing them as if they were a joke or a game.

"I don't want to hear any more of your lies, hyung. It's very clear to me. I saw it with my own eyes, and the evidence is right in the grip of my hand," he accused, thrusting my phone towards me in a gesture of accusation.

I could tell that he was referring to whatever there is in my phone, and I genuinely know that I had nothing to hide in there from him. We shared all our secrets, and I doubted there was anything suspicious inside my phone.

I meant every word when I said I would never cheat and that my love for him ran deeper than hell and higher than heaven.

"I have nothing to hide."

"Then explain this!" He shoved my phone into my face, and I took it from him, scanning the messages from my school project partner.

The words on the screen sent a chill down my spine.

'I miss you baby boy.'

'When can we meet?'

'Why are you always with your boyfriend?'

I looked up from my phone, meeting his gaze, unsure of how to explain the messages that appeared so incriminating.

It's all a misunderstanding, I swear.

"I hope you know that you're seeing this from a whole wrong point of view," I plead, desperately trying to explain.

"Haha. Yeah, okay. Then why are those the first thing he texted you Did you delete other messages to hide your flirty texts with him? So that I won't be able to read them? Is that it?!"
