Clueless (Warning: Rubbish book!)

"Merlins Beard" Chapter 20

I walk over to the door and open it, a smile instantly forming.

'Hey Lily! What's up?' I ask, leading her into my room, I sit down on my bed and Lily sits on my stool that is placed besides my vanity table.

'Hi, I just wanted to talk about...prom. Has Aaron asked you yet?' My smile fades. This girl is a menace to society.

She is the reason for global warming.

'Why on earth would Aaron ask me? He can get any girl so why would he take me? Plus, we've only just become friends and due to him having can- I mean, due to him having appointments I doubt he will go to prom.'

I really hope I didn't let the cat out of the bag,

Cat, you better not move.

I ain't playing no game of fetch here.

"Oh and Lily, can I tell you something?" I wasn't going to tell her about Aaron.

I mean, Aaron hasn't told me anything himself.

"Yes, of course." Lily replied, fingering my perfume bottles.

"It's about Courtney." Lily instantly looked up and confused as if I was going to say something else.

"You see, on our family day out, at the cinema I saw Courtney and Liam...holding hands." I reveal.

None of this adds up, what I saw yesterday or about Courtney. What is Liam up to and what on earth is he planning?

"Did Courtney tell you?" Jemma asks me and I shake my head, this is new to me. Before I could tell Jemma what I saw yesterday the doorbell rings. Jemma gets up and walks downstairs, I follow her.

A girl is at the door, someone who I haven't met but Jemma is obviously familiar with her. The girl is apologising and so is Jemma.

Merlins beard, what's this about? Oh god, Jemma is rubbing off on me.

That cannot be good.

"Lily, this is Alice. Alice, this is Lily." I smile at Alice and shake her hand. We go back to Jemma's room and the situation is kind of awkward.

"I wanted to talk to you Jemma, it's about Liam." Alice says. Me and Jemma look at each other confused, why does Liam always seem to play a part in everything?

"Liam asked me out the other day and I rejected obviously but everything seemed kind of fishy.... Like it was all part of a plan." This was news to me and Jemma.

Liam is defiantly up to something but the question is what. What was he talking about with Aaron? What is he doing with Courtney and what is he playing at with Alice?

I am completely clueless.

It just doesn't make sense, any of it. He told me he had changed but I guess he hasn't.

"Don't worry about it, I've got a plan. Alice, invite him over to your house and then accept, agree to tomorrow at exactly three o'clock and nothing else. Tell him to meet you at the Bridge cafè. Handle the rest to me and Lily, now off you pop. Go and call him!" Lily looked confused and so did Alice but we nodded and went. "We will say the same thing to Courtney."

Lily understood it all and smiled.

"And I am doing this why?" I ask, putting my hand on my hip.

"Trust us." Lily says and I do, after all me and Lily are cousins.

I wave goodbye to Jemma and Lily and head to the bridge cafè, I don't know what is so important that I have to go there at precisely 3.

I walk through the doors and my eyes meet Liam, staring lovingly to the eyes of another.

"Liam?"

He instantly looks up. "It's not what you think."

Huh please it's exactly what I think.

I storm out and walk back to were Jemma and Lily were.

"You guys...you did me a huge favour." I wrap my arms around them and start to cry, I then stop and wipe my eyes. He is not worth it.

It went to plan, all of it. So, Liam was cheating on that girl who stormed out and presumably many more girls, I see he hasn't changed, not one bit.

I walk out of the café and go to where Lily and Jemma told me to meet them.

"The plan worked!" I shriek, and Jemma presents me the biggest smile one can give.

"I knew he couldn't change even if he wanted to."
