Chapter 14: Suppression 'Today's shy look'

Me and Hod just stood there staring at the door and watched as it suddenly began to glow before disappearing as if it had never been there, but how come they were able to leave? I mean during my fight with the rats the door was...oh wait.

I remember now, Angela said something about how once they enter the library they cannot leave until at least one of the people with them had died, so when I killed Mars that made the door appear so those two could escape

Speaking of killing Mars...I walked over towards where I had killed him and where his book was laying on the ground, I bent down and to pick it up and when I did I was surprised to see that unlike the other books I had seen so far, his was a solid gold that simply read.

Nathan: 'Book of Mars'

The actual cover of the book itself felt pretty sturdy, almost like an art canvas put into a book form or something, it's honestly a really weird sensation holding this thing.

Green, blue, purple, and now gold, why are all these books so different from one another?

I was interrupted when Hod suddenly walked up to my side, I looked over to her as she began to speak.

Hod: Thanks for having my back Mr Richardson, honestly I don't know how I would have managed on my own.

Nathan: It's fine Hod, that's what friends are for.

She smiled when I said that, but I couldn't smile back because I was still thinking about the way that Lulu girl glared at me after Mars turned into a book...that pure anger I saw in her eyes...I know that feeling all to well after-

Hod: Come on, we didn't get all of their books but at least we're not going empty handed.

Nathan: Right...right (I said as I began to follow Hod out of the stage)

We left and made our way back to the main room but as we did I kept glancing at the book in my hands, none of this sits right with me...luring people here risking their lives knowing full well that they aren't going to succeed and end up as books.

All these years later and Angela is just as heartless as ever, just my luck that I get stuck here with her.

Timeskip

Me and Hod were standing in front of Angela along with Roland and Petra while Angela was looking at Mars's books.

Angela: Hmm...weird, I've never seen a book like this before (She mumbled to herself while looking over the golden book in visible confusion)

She gestured for Hod to come over before handing her the book, after Hod left to go put away Mars's book she turned to me and said.

Angela: So you were only able to get his book? What about the other two that came with him?

Nathan: They ran off after they saw Mars get turned into a book...well more like one of them dragged the other away, I mean that Lulu girl wanted to keep fighting but San dragged her away...but something tells me she's going to want payback for what happened to Mars.
