Chapter 8.5: The colors

William's POV

Currently I was walking through the backstreets with Zeke and one of my fellow Fixers Andre.

Zeke's weapon of choice was an electrified circular saw, while Andre carried the standard sword that many of the midnight office fixers were given, it had a grey handle and a silver blade, not very flashy but definitely practical and it wouldn't break easily.

But anyway the reason that we're in the backstreets is because we got some request from one of the corporations (I didn't pay attention to which one because I could care less about that) but apparently some syndicate has been causing their suppliers some trouble and so we're going to take out the base where the nearest group of the syndicate is...I think it was some group called the 'Green veins'

Now these guys I actually know, now you see the five fingers are the most infamous syndicates in the entire city... but the green veins however act as these sort of enforcers for hire for all of the fingers...essentially as their name implies they are the blood that flows through the hand to support the fingers...or some spiritual crap like that.

So yeah...here we are just outside the building that the green veins have been using...or at least one of them anyway, as far as I know the green vein syndicate is spread throughout the entire city...almost like actual blood veins.

Andre walked up towards the door that led into the building, he stopped in front of it with his sword drawn before saying.

Andre: Alright look alive everyone, this is the green veins we're dealing with so expect a tough fight.

William: (My life is tough enough already buddy...I don't need anyone telling me about it)

Me and Zeke simply nodded...Andre then Proceeded to kick the door open with his sword held out, the warehouse opened up into a decently lit room with some actually nice looking furniture...these guys probably get paid more than me.

Sitting at some table playing what I presume was poker or some other card game where two guys wearing the signature uniforms of the green veins, which was a black trench coat over a dark green shirt, all of their coats had the green vein's emblem on their shoulders, the two enforcers were startled by us just busting into the building and one of them even fell backwards and out of their chair.

They both quickly armed theirselves with these bats made out of metal, probably Titanium.

GV Enforcer1: Well look what we got here, a bunch of small time fixers trying to play with the big boys eh?

Andre: Midnight office is anything but small time, and your about to find out why.

William: (Buddy our office head is only grade 5...that's still kind of small time)

Zeke: Ready for this William? (He whispered to me)

William: About as ready as I am for anything (I whispered back)
