BLACK MOON PACK

🌑MOURNING🌑

He watched as the coffin was lowered into the deep grave, Toby tightly held his hand in comfort. He sighed sadly, it was true, his mate was dead, the hope he had that his mate would walk through the door and say he's still alive is now gone.

"We, should head back" Toby said. Max nodded his head and stood up. He walked over to the heap of dirt covering his mate.

"I'm so sorry i couldn't defend you that day, watch over us as we try to move on"

Toby listened quietly, since Taylor's death, Toby has become more and more socially awkward, one day he found Taylor's tshirt and he kept it in his room, he cries himself to sleep everyday praying to the moon goddess that Taylor's soul was in peace.

"Luke, are you okay?" Bill asked his mate, ever since Taylor's death was announced, Luke had become distant, he'd lash out at Bill whenever Bill was around, one time he even called Bill a bitch, something he never did before and Bill was really worried.

"Do you want me to smile and laugh? We're at a funeral Bill, a funeral for my bestfriend , my exmate, of course I'm not okay" luke replied nastily and stomped off. Bill sighed.

"Why do I even love you"

"The service was really touching" Elton said sighing, he sat down next to his mate who was now completely healed.

"Indeed ,such a fitting funeral for a great alpha" Mike said, eventhough he killed Taylor he still respects what he had done to achieve this, however at the end Taylor was still an omega, it was unnatural for an omega to play pretend and be an alpha.

"I'll go make us a snack, I'll be back" Elton said leaving Mike there.

Mike looked at Max and Toby as they headed towards the pack house, now that Max will be mourning, the alpha duties will be left for him and the other betas to take over, he has to set his plan in motion.

"Mike" he turned to see who was calling him, it was Dan, he smiled seeing him.

"What's up bro" he said making Dan raise an eyebrow.

"Bro? You never called me that before...anyways, i wanted to say Max wants us to meet in his office" Dan said, Mike nodded as he followed him.

"Okay, i brought sna-" Elton froze seeing an empty sofa, he sighed

"Betas"

"I called you guys here because i need your help" Max started, the betas sat infront of him listening intently.

"Anything for you alpha" Benjamin said smiling.

"I decided that, Benjamin will be my second in command" he stated, Dan and Benjamin nodded while Mike scoffed.

"I don't agree" Mike said crossing his arms on his chest. They turned their attention to him.

"And why is that Mike?" Dan asked seriously.

"First of all, i was here when the late alpha formed this pack, i was here first and I've been doing these tasks for a longer time, i think it shouldn't be a choice to choose who becomes second in command while i clearly deserve it"

"We know that, however if you could've called for help instead of going alone toward the threat then our alpha would be still alive right now" Dan said pointing a finger at Mike.

"Are you blaming me for Taylor's death?" Mike erupted with anger, his fist banging on the wooden table.

"No, we're not, but i do agree with what Dan said, You could've atleast called for help when you first spotted the hunters, just saying" Benjamin interjected with his point.

"He has a point, you're reckless and you don't have foresight for any situation you're facing, your fellow beta has that, so it's offical, Benjamin will be my second in command" Max declared in his alpha voice leaving no room for discussion.

"Thank you alpha" Benjamin bowed, Max smiled at him

"You may all go now" he said dismissing them. The three betas left the office and walked to the office.

"Congrats man, you deserve it" Dan said to Benjamin, Mike scoffed rolling his eyes.

"I think you're being favored, now that the real alpha of this pack is no more, Max will run this place to the ground, dont say i didn't warn you" he said and left them there.

"Clearly someone is jealous" Benjamin said as they watched Mike leave.

"I'm beginning to think that we shouldn't trust him, something about him is off lately" Dan said,

"Whatever man, let's go play pool"

"Dear moon goddess, watch over us, i feel that something is going to happen soon and it's going to be bad, give us wisdom to solve that issue when it arrives, i pray that the hunters don't return to our pack again, i cannot bare to lose my stepfather now, watch over Taylor and Autumn's souls, i pray to the moon and the goddess, amen"

Toby stood up and closed the balcony doors, there was a full moon tonight, something about it reminded him of Taylor, maybe it was the blue hue around it, that is why he prayed to the goddess, he feels that the pack will soon experience something bad, especially to the leaders.

He sighed and got in bed, he clutched Taylor's tshirt tightly to his chest as tears flowed down his cheeks, he fell asleep minutes later.

What Toby didn't see was a cloaked figure standing in the middle of the training fields, the figure starring at the moon with tears in it's eyes.
