"Are you sure about this?" He asks making his alpha sigh.

"Trust me Andy, she's the best one for the job" he says walking to the door, he knocks and Rita opens it. Max smiles

"Good afternoon Rita, may we talk for a moment" he says walking in, Rita sighs.

"Since you let yourself in, why not" she says sarcastically making Max smile. Andy sits across the room, he looks around and sees a pair of combat knives on the table, he stands up and touches one.

"Where did you get these?" He asks, Rita smiles and takes them and poses,

"I bought them a month ago, i figured I'd need some protection since Mike is out there killing people" she shrugs, Max smiles wider.

"You see, she's perfect" he says making Andy nod. He places the knife where he found it and sits back down. Rita sits next to Andy and looks at Max.

"Okay...I'm confused, what am i perfect for?" She asks, Max smirks.

"You're going to be Toby's bodyguard."

He closed the door to his locker and sighs.

"I can't believe I'm back at school" he groans earning a swat on the arm from his mate.

"Nate you promised that you'll finish school" Toby says standing next to him.

Taylor Wilson High has been open for a month now and the school has been open to both human and supernatural beings, something Toby was afraid of because he feared he would get bullied by other kids but he ended up just fine especially when the kids learned that his father owned the school.

Nate and Toby have been progressing well for the past few months, Nate still sleeps on the floor because Toby doesn't trust his wolf enough to share the bed with his mate. Nate has become more open and free, he's actually a prankster around the pack, one time he put a snicker bar in Max's Range rover fuel tank, the car had to be repaired and a large of money was spent but he did earn a few laughs from Toby and Benjamin so he finds it worth it.

"Babe, it's school, we're supposed to feel miserable" Nate groans again as they walked to their last class of the day.

"If you behave well during this class I'll give you a reward" Toby says. Nate smirks and nibbles on his earlobe.

"Is it what i think it is?" He asks whispering. Toby shivered and blushes.

"It can be whatever you want.....daddy"

"Excuse me what?" She asks puzzled. Max nods and Andy sighs.

"Max here fears that Mike could kidnap Toby and use him as bait" he says. Rita nods and sighs.

"We're practically family now, so yeah I'll do it...Toby makes my brother happy" she says, Max smiles and stands up.

"Thank you, you will start once they return from school" he says making her nod. Max walks out the room leaving Andy and Rita.

"He seems more relaxed now" Rita says making Andy nod in agreement.

"Yeah...maybe this whole thing has an advantage to it" he shrugs. Rita nods.

"Get out of my room" she says making him chuckle.

"We're fine, the witch we live with is the best, she made Elton gain his ability to walk and talk"

"Really? May we speak with him?"

"Not now, he's doing his routine, something about poking needles in the scalp?"

"Yikes...okay, stay safe you guys, Mike is out there be vigilant"

"Thanks, talk soon"

He hangs up the phone and sighs, his fellow beta falls back on the chair.

"Elton has been gone for 4 hours and now he can talk? That witch must be powerful" Benjamin says, Dan nods.

"I think so too, by the way, have you smelled something off at the east border lately" Dan says tapping his chin, Benjamin opens his eyes and nods.

"Actually yeah...the scent was really unnatural" he says.

"Want to track it?" Dan asks enthusiastically, Benjamin nods. The betas head out the alpha office and walk outside.

They shift and trott down to the east border, they found a burrow which was freshly dug there, Dan sniffs it and sneezes.

'Must be a rabbit or a fox' he says through the link. A small figure zoomed ahead catching Benjamin's attention, he chased after the figure when a scent of Chocolate and Mint hit him, he froze when he realized what the scent was.

'Mate' his tail wagged in excitement as he sniffed the air. He saw the small figure hid behind a fallen tree and it clicked, that animal was his mate. He slowly trotted over to it.

The small figure whimpered hearing the leaves crunch under the wolf's large paws.

'BENJAMIN!!' Dan called out in the link, he received no reply, he tracked down his scent and walked down the same path.

Benjamin shifted back and slowly crept over to the small which had it's head covered by it's bushy tail.

"Hey little fella...I'm not going to hurt you, so stay calm" he says gently, The small figure huffs and reveals it's large shiny eyes to him.

'Mate!' His wolf sang over and over again in his mind.

Dan shifted once he saw Benjamin talking to a log.

"Bro what are you doing?" He asks, scaring the small animal, before it could run away Benjamin grabbed it quickly by the scruff making it whine.

"Whoa dude, nice catch, can't wait to have me some fox" Dan says earning a growl from Benjamin.

"MINE!"

"Oh wow, my bad" he chuckles raising his hands in defeat. He watched as Benjamin carried the fox to the pack house.

"Oh boy"

"My spies tell me they've successfully entered the Serene pack" Andrew tells Mike making him smirk, the book he was reading was closed and put on the table.

"Good....good....tell them in three days we attack" he says making his second in command nod.

"Yes sir"

Once the door closes Mike walks over to the window, the hill far ahead of him taunting him making his smirk more sinister, he tapped the window and laughs.

"I hope you have your defenses up Max because you're next"

He kisses his forehead and a tear escaped the corner of his eye.

"I'll be back" he says making his saviour smile.

"Listen, when everything is good and balanced I'll return him to you okay" she says making him nod, he wipes his tears away and straightens up.

"You're right...it's time we fix things...i don't know how to repay you so i give you this" he says pulling out something from his pocket.

"My father gave it to me so i want you to have it, as a reminder of my gratitude" he says, she hugs him, the baby in her arms giggling.
