🌑THE RIFT🌑

Max and Benjamin stormed out the pack house running towards Rita, Max was angry.

"Max, it's not his fault, listen to me!" Benjamin says.

Rita smiles seeing them but it soon fades to worry when she sees Max grab Toby the collar. Toby gasped in shock seeing this.

"We gave you a home, and all we asked was be vigilant, why didn't you call for help! Now look at us, our pack is gone" he says furiously. Tears brimmed Toby's eyes hearing this, the fact that he was being blamed for this was enough to remind him that no one would ever love him.

"Don't talk to him like that, leave him alone" Nate says, Toby's heart skipped a beat hearing this, he smiles sadly, tears flowing down his cheeks.

"I...I'm sorry...." he says quietly. Max's wolf growls at him making the alpha come back to his senses, he hated himself as he watched Toby cry.

"Toby....I....I...."

"It's okay, i understand" Toby says, Max puts him down and releases him. Benjamin and Rita sigh of relief.

"We'll talk about this later, something happened back at home" Benjamin says. Max nods.

"Shift and let's head back" he instructs, the wolves nod and shift, Toby carrying Nate on his back while Rita was on Benjamin's, they ran back to their pack.

Mike looked at them through the window, he smirked seeing them run away.

"Next time, i won't spear you" he says smirking darkly.

"We lost 32 members and the rest were extremely injured but they'll live" Ryan says. Some of the wolves had ran to the panic rooms and the pack hospital since it was not attacked. Taylor nods and smiles.

"Thank you...and I'm happy you guys are okay" he says looking around the room. Ryan nods and walks to tend to his patients. Andy walks up to him.

"When...when will the funerals be held?" He asks. Taylor sighs sadly.

"This weekend, but in the meantime, i want you to investigate something for me" he says catching the fox's attention.

"Which is?"

"Go find out who let those wolves out the cells, i think we have a mole here"

Andy nods.

"I won't disappoint"

They arrive at Black moon pack and saw the horror that happened there, Max shifted back to his human form and ran towards the pack house.

"Taylor?" He asks walking inside, his heart ramming against his chest, the fear of losing his mate was making him anxious.

"Taylor?" He asks again walking towards the kicthen.

"Over here"

He sighed hearing his voice, he walked up to him and hugged him.

"What happened?" He asks, Taylor shakes his head.

"I was a few minutes late, Andy saw the whole thing" he says, Max nods.

"As long as you're okay" he says

"Max..." Taylor says pulling away from the hug, Max looked at him with worry.

"The triplets....luke....lolo...they're.....they're dead" he says making Max freeze.

"N-no" he says in denial, Taylor nods with unshed tears in his eyes.

"It's true, I'm so sorry" he says. Max hugs hisma again, tears flowing down his cheeks as he cried quietly.

They walked towards the pack house, Toby being scared to get inside, he's afraid that Taylor might scold him just like Max did. Nate holds his hand.

"You'll be fine" he says. Toby smiles weakly and nods. They walked inside the house.

Taylor gasped seeing Toby, he pulled away from the hug he and Max were sharing and walked towards Toby.

"Toby, thank goodness you're okay" he says in relief, Toby chokes up a sob as he heard the caring tone from Taylor, he was wrong after all, there are some people who care about him.

"Don't cry honey, it's okay" Taylor rocks him, Max felt guilt eat him up seeing the trauma he put his through.

"Toby...I" he touches his shoulder making Toby flinch, Taylor looked at them.

"What happened?" He asks. Nate, Rita and Benjamin take slow steps back avoiding the family matter.

Smack.

"Really Max? You yelled at him because of what  Mike said, unbelievable" he says pacing back and forth, Max touches his tingly cheek.

"I said i was sorry" he says earning a blue eyed glare from his mate.

"You're supposed to apologize to Toby not me, you know what, I'm heading out, go fix things with your son" he says and walks out the room.

Max sighs noticing what Mike had just done, he caused a rift between him and his son and Max blames himself for falling for his trap.
