"What do you mean by he exposed himself?" Benjamin asked, hearing what Andy just said tells him Andy knows something about Mike and he plans to find out what.

"Forgive me for my bluntness but Mike has been here the longest, even before Max right?" He started, the betas and the alpha nodded their heads.

"So he feels like you guys are taking away something he helped built Of course he's going to be angry" he concluded

"Makes sense" Max said, he sighed.

"What should we do now?" Dan asked

"We give him what he wants" Andy said simply.

"Which is....?" Benjamin trailed off

"He wants power, give it to him before he reverts to evil doing" Andy said, he fears that someone might die if Mike keeps getting denied.

"I see, give me an hour to think over it" Max said, he's at a crossroad in this situation.

"I've decided to make Mike my second in command" Max said shocking everyone except for Andy, Mike smirked.

"Oh really?" He asked. Max nodded his head.

"After what Andy said to me, I've seen your point, you clearly deserve it" Max said, Mike looked at Andy who gave him a smile and he returned the gesture. Maybe he misjudged the human.

"Thank you alpha, i won't disappoint" he bowed.

"Look at him, he's on cloud nine" Dan said watching Mike walking around the pack house in confidence, Max sighed.

"Let him, if Andy's plan works it's okay with....^cough^....me" he cleared his throat and sat down on the sofa.

Dan and Benjamin sat next to him.

"What if he wants more?" Benjamin asked, Maz sighed.

"Then we...^cough^....eliminate him" he cleared his throat again. Dan looked at him

"Are you alright?" He asked looking at him, Max was becoming pale, Max nodded his head and coughed.

"Might be a cold or something" he coughed into his hand and saw blood making the betas to gasp.

"Your mate's death is getting to you" Benjamin said, Max's ears started to ring as the room started to spin.

"Call Vera" he coughed up more blood, he wheezed, his chest in pain, it feels like he was shot, tears brimmed his eyes as he wondered if Taylor felt so much pain when he was shot.

Dan ran to find Vera and Ryan, Benjamin sat next to him giving him a glass of water.

"This must be hard" Benjamin said, Max nodded

"And painful" he rasped out, Ryan and Dan ran inside, Toby behind them

"What happened?" Toby asked, he saw the blood in Max's hand and froze

"This was going to happen eventually, since you're a royal wolf, you won't die but you will experience immense pain for the next few months" Ryan said placing his stethoscope on his chest.

"Months?" Max rasped out, Ryan nodded.

"Once...Taylor's body decomposes your pain will reduce" he said making them gasp.

"Oh goddess" Toby whispered, the betas helped Max to his room.

"Benjamin and Mike will look after the pack while you heal" Dan said making them all nod.

Andy walked in and saw Max going upstairs being supported by his betas.

"What happened?" He asked, Toby hugged him crying.

"H-he's sick"

Andy patted his back.

"It's okay, he'll be fine" he reassured, Toby nodded his head.

Later that day

Max was laying in his bed, his eyes closed, he was unconscious. He dreamed about the time he met Taylor, how the wolf cried and ran away from him, he walked around in his subconscious, he was surrounded by green lawn and red roses.

"I like it here" he turned to see someone he knew he'd never see again in real life.

"Taylor..."

Taylor smiled, he was wearing a white suit with a red tie, he looked at Max and tears flowed down his cheeks.

"Max..."

Max's knees became weak, he walked towards him and hugged him, he inhaled deeply taking in his scent.

"It's really you"

"Yeah"

"What happened" he asked pulled away from the hug, Taylor shook his head

"I'm forbidden to talk about what happened but all i can say is, trust Andy, he'll be a great help to the pack" he said, he began to fade away.

"No, don't leave" Max said, Taylor smiled sadly.

"I'll never leave you, trust me...I love you." he said before vanishing, Max ran up to him and saw nothing, he sighed sadly.

"I love you too"

He walked around and saw the pack house, he ran to the door and opened it.

"Dad is home!" A voice called out, it was Toby, he was all grown up, with a beard and all, a man stood by his side smiling.

"Max, welcome back" the man smiled, Toby smacked the man's arm.

"Nate, he said you should call him dad now" Toby informed, Max was stunned, was this Nate, Toby's mate?

The room started spinning and he found himself in bedroom, he heard the shower, he smiled and opened the door.

"Feeling naughty?" A woman's voice said, he froze, a woman? What about Taylor? He stepped back

"Are you watching my mate take her shower?" Andy asked in shock, Max turned around.

"No, why is she using my bathroom" he defended making Andy sigh.

"You live in the other mansion dummy" Andy said, Max sighed as the room spun again, he found himself in the backyard, he saw a blonde haired young man playing with pups, he smiled.

"Taylor!" He ran up to the figure.

"Dear moon goddess, watch over us, i feel that something is going to happen and it's going to be bad, give us wisdom to solve that issue when it arrives, i pray that the hunters don't return to our pack again, i cannot bare to lose my stepfather now, watch over Taylor and Autumn's souls, i pray to the moon and the goddess, amen"

She wiped off her tears, seeing her children in so much grief hurt her, she looked at the unconscious blue flamed wolf laying on her golden couch.

"Autumn, rest up, when i feel you're ready, I'll wake you up" she ran her fingers through the flaming fur.
