Marina POV
We were all put into bags, some of us on a spit, the rest of us piled on the ground in the bags. I was thrown on top of Thorin. Great. I blushed madly and looked away the second we made eye contact. "Are you hurt?" He asked gently. I shook my head and looked at him. "Good." He said quietly. Bilbo stood up. "Wait! You're making a terrible mistake!" The trolls looked at him. Bilbo continued. "About the seasoning. Your going to need something stronger than sage before you plate this lot up!"
Thorin grumbled. "Traitor!!" I kneed him in the leg. "He's getting us time!" Thorin glared at me. "Time for what?!" I glanced over to a nearby rock. Thorin looked over too. You could barely see the tip of a blue hat behind the rock. Thorin's eyes widened. "Gandalf?" I nodded. By this time Bilbo had intervened in the eating of Bombur by saying that he had parasites and that we were all riddled. Kili and several other dwarves protested loudly, almost blowing Bilbo's plan. Thorin kicked Kili hard, and you could almost see the lightbulb go off in Kili mind. "I have huge parasites!!!" He cried unconvincingly. I rolled my eyes. "Your nephew is a horrible liar, Thorin." Thorin chuckled. Hearing Thorin chuckle was one of the rarest things I've ever witnessed. Just then Gandalf appeared. "The dawn will take you all!" And hit a rock. It broke and the rising sun turned the trolls to stone. He then helped Thorin out of his bag and turned to help the others. Thorin got out of his bag, and helped you out of yours. "Are you sure your all right?" He asked gently. You nodded. "Why are you being so nice to me?" He smiled softly. "Because... It doesn't matter." He tensed and walked away. I stated after him, dumbfounded. Dwalin came up to me. "He finds it difficult to show emotion lass. But he will come round. Rest assured. He will." I smiled up at him. "Thank you."
We were now in a horrid smelling cave, poking around gold and weapons and jewelry. It was a troll hoard. After a few moments in the putrid smell, I had to leave. The smell was too much.
As I went outside, I heard footsteps behind me. "Are you alright?" A deep soft voice asked. I turned to see Thorin. "I'm sorry. The smell was too much." He nodded. "No need to be sorry Marina."
I smiled at him. Just looking at him sent butterflies to my stomach.
I noticed that he carried an elvish sword with him. "That is an elvish sword." He nodded. He looked down at it with disgust. "Unfortunatly. Gandalf says that I couldn't wish for a better blade." I sighed. "You do not seem to enjoy elves." He laughed. "Of course not! The vermin turned away from us when we needed them!" My heart sank. What chance did I have with a king who hates elves? After all, I'm half elf! I unconsciously felt the charm necklace around my throat. Its magic worked as long as I wore the necklace. I have to say, I did like my pointy ears, but Thorin would kill me if he saw them. The rest of the company had come out of the troll hoard. Something was coming, my half elf senses would feel it. But Gandalf beat me to it. "Something is coming!" All the dwarves drew their weapons, but I didn't. I knew who it was. Radagast the Brown burst through the clearing. "Thieves!! Fire!! Murder!!" He yelled like a madman. "Ah. Radagast. Everyone, Radagast the Brown." Radagast nodded and drew Gandalf to the side. We all sat down while the wizards talked. Then we heard a howl. "What is that? Is that a wolf?" Bilbo asked, frightened. "Wolf? No... That is no wolf." Bofur said, scared. Just then a twig snapped and a Warg jumped at us. We killed it and another started coming. Kili shot it, and it fell. Its paw swiped out and caught me in the stomach. I cried out in pain as its claws tore open my flesh. I flew backwards and hit a tree. My head was swimming and I made myself stand up. I looked around. Thorin had slain the other Warg. I looked down at my previously blue shirt and it was slowly staining itself red. The pain in my stomach was almost unbearable. "Who did you tell?!" Gandalf demanded. "No one! I swear! What in Durins name is going on?!" Thorin responded. Gandalf looked about warily. "You are being hunted." "We don't have any ponies! They bolted!" Ori cried. Kili looked at me and his eyes widened. "What in During name!!!.... Are you alright?!" I looked down at my bloody shirt and lifted it up. His eyes widened. "Thats not good Marina. Not good at all." I nodded. "I know." "Run!" Gandalf yelled. We took off running as Radagast drew the attention of the Warg pack. We were in a field full of boulders, excellent for cover. We dodged behind boulders anytime the Wargs ran past, completely infatuated with Radagast and his Rusgubel rabbits. We ducked behind a big boulder as we heard a Warg approaching. He smelled my blood. I knew it. I looked down. Most of my shirt was red. I needed help, soon. Thorin motioned to Kili, who drew an arrow. He jumped out and shot the Warg. It howled and the Orc tried to attack, but he was quickly killed. We heard howls. The Wargs were after us. I was getting dizzy as we ran farther. We stopped by an outcropping of boulders when we saw we were surrounded. "Kili! Marina! Shoot them!" Thorin shouted. Kili and I drew our bows a picked off Warg after Warg, but more kept appearing. "This way you fools!" Gandalf shouted and jumped down a hole. I smiled. The secret passage. The dwarves jumped down the holes. Kili, Thorin and I were still out. "Kili! Marina! Come on!" Thorin shouted. Kili turned and ran. The Wargs were coming faster. I made a split second decision. They need more time. "Marina! Come on!" Thorin shouted as Kili jumped down the hole. "No go without me!" I shouted back. As I slew another Warg. "No arguing Thorin! Go!" He bit his lip. "Don't you dare die!" He yelled as he jumped down the hole. I turned back to the Wargs. Suddenly one had an arrow in his head. A horn sounded and white horses charged into the clearing, one black. I smiled. The Wargs were all killed, and horses surrounded me. The black horse came through the circle to stand in front of me. "Well it took you long enough Lord Elrond!" I said happily. He smiled. "Marina! Child what happened?" I looked down at my shirt. "Um..." And then I fainted. I lost too much blood.
