Chapter 2 - Reason

A few months later..

THIRD PERSON

"Beomgyu, what are you waiting for?"

Beomgyu turns his head towards Soobin who was holding out his hand to pull him up to the stage, but Beomgyu's eyes shifts to the cameras in the room with a look of nervousness. Soobin, then steps closer to him and bends down to whisper something to Beomgyu. The nervous look on Beomgyu's face slowly fades away as Soobin straightens himself, reaching out to grab the younger's arm.

Before Soobin could take hold of his arm, he stands up and walks ahead of the leader with confidence, while heading up to the stage, he whispers to himself; "I can do this." as he sits down on the stage, behind the other three who were already positioned in their places and ready to perform a song from their third album, which is called Can't You See Me, on Music Bank.

Soobin smiles as he glances at the male idol, but his smile disappears when Yeonjun calls him to come over and sit in his spot. He jogged up the flight of stairs to the stage and sits down in front of Beomgyu, before he properly faces the camera, he nudges Beomgyu's knee. Giving him a thumbs-up, "I'll help you, if you help us, too." he whispered to him and smiles when Beomgyu grins at him, nodding his head.

As Yeji enters the practice room while her arm is linked with Lia's, she pouts her lips as she made eye contact with her members. "PD-nim said we're going to have to postpone our comeback to September.."

Complaining with an eye roll, one says, "Fucking hell." Both Yeji's and Lia's eyes widens in surprise when she curses, "Shin Ryujin!" the eldest shouted sternly. Ryujin grimaces and growls as she stands up on her feet, "What? Are you not mad that our comeback keeps getting postponed? Like how BLACKPINK-sunbaenim only gets two comebacks a year?" the girl questioned and the two remaining members immediately interfere. "Don't drag anyone else into this, Ryujin." the girl bitterly laughs at Chaeryeong's words.

When Ryujin tries to walk out the door, Yeji and Lia simultaneously steps in front of the dark haired girl to prevent her from exiting the room. "You're not going anywhere," Yeji said as the one member beside her tenses up. Ryujin leans back, pushing her weight and leaning on one foot, "I'm not going to keep waiting for this." she muttered as the most fakest smile ever replaces her pursed lips, she pushes through the two girls. "Don't go to where I think you're going.."

Ryujin lets out a dry chuckle and shrugs her shoulders, "If you're expecting me to sit and wait for our comeback, then maybe we should just disband already." Yeji grits her teeth at the word, a strong word in the industry and it makes her shudder in fear, the thought of leaving the K-POP industry over something as little as a fight between her and Ryujin - makes her feel like shit. To her, disbanding is like death, but less harmful. Putting an end to ITZY, the group that she, herself, is in and the leader of - it's scary..

Lia warily glances at Yeji with a worried look on her face, while Yuna and Chaeryeong were leaning on the door as they intently watch. Yeji bites her bottom lip in frustration, she's furious, mad, raging like a bull - she's mad at a lot of things actually; herself, Ryujin, Yeonjun who hasn't been calling her lately and mostly JYP for postponing their comeback. She exhales shakily as she rubs her eyes, she feels tired - she's sick and tired of this bullshit and she just wants it to end.

"I think we should end practice here, guys.." the youngest said, scratching her head and glancing at the two others to signal them.

Both Chaeryeong and Lia agrees, nodding their heads and keeping their gazes on Yeji. "Yeji, let's go. You need a rest from all these problems." said Lia as she tugs on the girl's arm, mumbling some words to her as well causing Yeji to snap back to reality within the second. As Lia tries to tug Yeji with her again, Yeji gently pulls her arm and pushes Lia away. "You guys go first.. I'll just try to talk to Ryujin."

Before Lia and the other two could protest, Yeji was already walking away from them, down the hall. That leaves Lia, Chaeryeong and Yuna sitting in silence, suffocating, awkward and very uncomfortable silence. Yuna scratches her nape as she turns on her heels, "I'll go call Mr. Kang." she said and excused herself as she takes out her phone from her pocket.

. . .

Slam!

JYP flinched when the door slammed open with a loud thud as it hits the wall behind it, a not-so-happy looking Ryujin walks in with her fists clenched and her facial expressions hardened. A small smile slowly appears on JYP's lips, "Good evening, Ryujin. What -"

"Stop postponing our comeback."

His eyebrows furrow and his gaze became sharper, like it could cut anyone it lands on. He intertwines his fingers together and clasps his hands, "I prefer to talk calmly and formally." he said and sees the female idol roll her eyes in annoyance. Ryujin let out a fake laugh and sits down on the chair in front of JYP's desk, "'Good evening, PD-nim, may I ask why you keep on postponing our comeback?' Like that? I don't think so." she muttered as she grits her teeth.

JYP remains calm and collected, "That's more like it." he mumbled.

Ryujin loudly scoffs, making sure to make it clear that she's obviously annoyed. She grimaces and leans forward, slamming her hand on the desk. "Postponing your idols' comebacks is fun, huh?" she asked as he cocked an eyebrow at her. JYP shrugs his shoulders and tilts his head, "It was for your own good." he muttered and Ryujin wanted to shout at him but she managed to control herself.

"So, you finally decided to gang up with YG Entertainment or what?" JYP's eyes closes for a second. Ryujin hummed with a fake smile, "For our own good, huh? Postponing a comeback, is good? How is that good?" she bombards with multiple questions, as Ryujin continues to ramble on about the postponing of ITZY's comeback, JYP finally gives up and shouts. "Shin Ryujin!" Ryujin shifts in her seat with her lips pursed, "What?" she asked, totally fed-up with this.

He glares at the girl, "I'm doing this because of you, because of the recent news involving you. Do you think breaking up with Beomgyu and leaving him in the rain is going to free your life? If his fans know that you're having a comeback, you'll be pestered 24/7 anywhere, anytime. I'm doing this so that you could build up your self-esteem to prepare yourself for the chaos coming your way. So, please, think about this." the room becomes quiet. The two of them sit in silence, with Ryujin in deep thought and JYP still glaring at her.

Ryujin coughs and stands up, a few sniffs can be heard from her as she walks towards the door. "I was strong enough to fight off the hate, but now that you mentioned him, I guess I'm breaking down again. Thank you for caring." she muttered before walking out of the room. JYP stares at the papers under his arms that are resting on his desk, Of course, I care, Ryujin..
