Fixation

It began at the mall. Salvatore has watched her distributing brochures—a girl of modest means but striking, gentle beauty. He couldn't shake her image from his mind. When he finally sat down to message her, the tension was suffocating. He struggled with the opening; the thought of a mundane, "Hi, how are you?" Felt revoltingly basic, yet he remained paralyzed by his choice of words.

He threw his phone aside, certain she would make him wait, but it lit up instantly. At first her thumbs up felt like a cold dismissal, sparking a surge of resentment. But, eventually, the "hi" he had been hunting for arrived. Their daily chats became a bridge, yet they weren't enough. His fixation grew into a hunger he couldn't ignore; he had to see her in the flesh. He crossed borders to find her, tracking her movements until he arrived at a local fast-food joint. He felt  like a predator as he scanned the room, but the moment he saw her smiling at the customers with that angelic glow—the world stopped.

Watching her toil away made his blood boil. He felt like a dog on a leash, barely contained. When she finally finished her shift, he followed her into the staff area, oblivious to the gasps of her colleagues. He didn't cared about the rules, he only cared about the girl. He loomed her for a heartbeat, savoring the proximity, before wrapping his arms around her waist. She spun around, pale with disbelief.

"How are you, my love?" He whispered, pressing soft kiss to her temple and breathing her scent.

"Salvatore!" She gasped, her face flushing with fear and embarrassment. "You can't be here—this is the locker room!"

"Softly, now... there isn't a place on earth i can't go," he replied, drinking in her terror with the appreciation of an artist. "I've waited long enough. Get change quickly; I don't plan on taking my eyes off you."

Suddenly, her manager appeared, her voice shrill as she reprimanded the girl Salvatore's presence. He felt a surge of protective rage and cut her off instantly. "I'm here for my girlfriend, nothing more," he snapped.

Despite the warning, the woman summoned the security. As they led him out, Salvatore's patience wore thin—not just at the insult, but at the thought of her facing the manager's temper alone. He handled it with a simple phone call to the owner. Using his influence as an investor, he ensured neither the manager nor his girl would ever clock into that building again.

He hovered his car until she emerged. Before she could speak, he seized her wrist and dragged her toward the passenger side despite her struggles. Once shielded by the car, he pinned her with a hand at her throat—not to hurt her, but to still her. When she gasped, he claimed her mouth in a kiss fueled by raw, jealous rage. He felt her lip snag on his teeth, the taste of blood blooming between them. He backed off just enough to trace the wound with his thumb.

"Does it hurt?" He murmured. The question was met with a stinging slap that snapped his head to the side.

"You shameless!" She cried, her voice trembling. "I lost my job because of your stunt, and you have the nerve to be angry at me? For what?"

Salvatore stared her down, his expression hard as granite, but his anger quickly shifted. He realized that to take her away, he had to calm the storm he had created. He didn't want to be the villain today; he wanted to be her only option.

"I'm sorry i interfered, but I hate seeing you waste yourself," he said softly, holding her waist firmly and nuzzling her ear, "I can offer you a perfect life. Just give me this one chance. I didn't mean for you to get hurt. Forgive me?"

"J-Just don't do it again," she reprimanded, her resolve giving easily. He nodded like an obedient dog, placing soft kisses along her jaw. "When did you even come here? How did you find me?" She asked.
