Cuori's POV
"MOM!" I busted through the door of our apartment.
"LIZ!" she yelled back sarcastically.
"I got asked out on a date!" I excitedly blurted. My mom's face lit up.
"Seriously? Oh my gosh tell me everything." She said excitedly.
"So, we were at the game. I was talking with the guys, put Race in a choke hold-" I started.
"UNIMPORTANT!" Mom cut me off.
"Sorry! Sorry!" I slipped off my converse. "So we were just hanging out in the stands when Race pointed out that Ace was staring at me." I continued.
"Wait! Ace SMITH!" She geeked out.
"Jeez mom ya sound like Shine." I deadpanned. "Anyway, I went down to the concession stand and he asked me to the drive-in tomorrow." My mom squealed.
"What are you going to wear?" she asked excitedly.
"I'm saving that thought for 7:30 tomorrow." I told her.
"Fine." I heard her sigh as I laughed before heading up the stairs to get ready for bed.

"Elizabeth Romano! You are going to be late!" I raced down the stairs throwing on my leather jacket. "I'm coming! I'm coming!" I slipped on the same converse from last night and checked the time. 7:56.
At 7:58 there was a knock on the door. I shot up and answered it before my mom could.
"Hey!" I exclaimed when Ace appeared in the doorway.
"Hi!" He nervously breathed.
My mom came into view. "Oh Ace, this is my mom. Don't let her intimidate you." I whispered. He stuck his hand out.
"Ace Smith." my mom shook it.
"Mrs. Romano." My mom stated.
"I'll take good care of her tonight ma'am." He promised.
"As long as you don't pull anything tonight, I'll be fine." She said with a kind smile.
"Oh I won't, ma'am." he assured her, flashing his million dollar smile. "We should get going." Ace nodded as I turned to my mom.
"Ti amo." She gave me a kiss.
"Ti amo anch'io" she responded. I turned and joined Ace out onto the front steps.
"Ti ano?" He questioned, cocking an eyebrow.
"Amo." I corrected him. "It means I love you in Italian. It's my mother tongue. We moved here when I was in 6th grade." I told him.
"That's cool." He replied. I jumped over the car door and plopped into the passenger seat. Ace laughed, opening his door and starting the car. "What movies were they showing again?" Ace asked. "I don't know, it's a surprise." I did jazz hands when I said surprise which got a laugh out of Ace.
"You're quite the bubbly one." He laughed. I just nodded.
"Was that car out front yours?" He asked. I nodded proudly "Yep! I've been saving since I was 10 for a nice car. Didn't have one in mind but just new I was saving." I stated blatantly.
"Nice! That car is pretty badass. Matches your personality." He said with a smirk. I blushed a bit.
"How so?" I questioned raising an eyebrow.
"I saw you put Racetrack in a headlock. Not gonna lie, that was really cool. Never seen any of those stubborn cheerleaders do that." I laughed.
"They can be that annoying huh?" I questioned. He shook his head yes.
"You have no idea." We pulled into the drive-in, paid for our tickets, and found the guys. Jack was throwing death glares at Ace the second he came into view.
"Oof!" Race fell out of the trunk of Albert's car as Shiner opened it. "You again, huh Race?" I laughed. He brushed himself off.
"Next time it's gonna be Shiner!" He declared, pointing his finger at her.
"Oh no it's not!" She protested.
"Did I miss something?" Ace looked at me quizically.
"We always make Race hide in the trunk when we wanna sneak people in." I said quietly. Ace nodded.
"Heya toots." A familiar voice said from behind me. I rolled my eyes turning around to see none other than the Delancey's. The movie hadn't even started yet and they were already being jackasses. Ace stepped a little closer to me.
"What the hell do you want this time Oscar." I asked rolling my eyes. He smirked back at me.
"For you to watch the movie with me in my car." he flirted looking me up and down. Ace secured his arm around my waist.
"Sorry fellas. She's with me tonight." he lowered his voice. "Thought you said guys don't like you." Ace deadpanned.
"They aren't guys, they're animals." I whispered back a little too loudly.
"What did you say?" Oscar slowly started walking in my direction, while I stayed quiet. Race, Albert, and Jack hurried to the rescue, standing between the two of us.
"Beat it." Jack snarled. Oscar hesitated, but walked away glaring at me the whole time as I glared back.
"They don't know when to leave me alone." I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in.
"Let's just enjoy the movie." Ace sighed. I walked to the front of the car sitting on the hood.
"You sit up here too?" he asked.
"Yeah. Better view." I told him.
"Definitely." he smiled, never taking his gaze off of me as I blushed. My face was probably as red as Shiner's hair.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
I let out a small yawn followed by a shiver. I wasn't used to being out this late having fun. Also it was freezing. I had a jacket, but it didn't offer much protection.
"Tired already?" Ace asked me with a laugh. I nodded sleepily.
"I'm never up this late with friends. If I'm ever up past 9 I'm studying my ass off." He laughed before swinging his arm around me and pulling me in close. He was like a human heater. I curled up into his side resting my head on his shoulder as he rested his on top of mine. Something felt....off. I couldn't help but wish this was Spot. Was I using Ace to get over him? No! I actually liked him. But it didn't mean my crush on Spot was gone. I sighed contentedly into Ace and closed my eyes, soon drifting off to sleep.

••• Sorry for the time skips brought to you by my lazy self•••

"Race, don't. Just let me carry her." I heard a hushed Ace quietly scolding.
"That's no fuuuunnn." A whiny Race answered back.
"It's not fun when you-" Ace was cut off by Race shouting,
"CUORI!" I shot up from Ace's shoulder to be met with Race, Albert, and Shiner doubled over laughing and a very annoyed looking Ace.
"Jesus Racer don't do that!" I scolded curling back into Ace's side. He laughed lightly.
"Movie's over we're gonna head back now." Ace whispered calmly. I groaned but sat up almost literally rolling off the car and hopping into the passenger seat. Ace started the car, flipping to a random station. He hummed along to the song as we drove, singing some parts.
"I didn't know you could sing." I said curiously. I turned toward him as he shrugged.
"Just a bit and I'm not good. How about you?" I shook my head. That was a lie. I could sing very well, no one had heard me perform though, not even the guys. The rest of the ride went by in silence. We pulled up to my house.
"Well I'll see ya Monday." Ace more asked than he declared.
"Yeah." I got out of the car and walked into the house. Mom was passed out on the couch. I smiled at her as I walked up the stairs to get ready for bed. I fell asleep again with a huge smile on my face.
