Can You Tape a Broken Heart? [Hanta Sero x Reader]

Chapter 1

(F/N) POV)

I jolted awake in my bed.

Another nightmare.

I sighed and got up before it hit me. Today's the UA entrance exam! With that in mind, I had a little more spring in my step as I walked down the hallway to Denki's door.

My parents were super close with the Kaminaris, so I grew up with Denki. My parents had two wishes when they died, 1.) that I live with the Kaminaris and 2.) that I become a hero and carry on what they left behind.

Ever since we were little, Denki and I have always wanted to be heroes, so my parents never needed to worry about the second point.

I knocked on Denki's door, "Wake your butt up! Today's the exam!"

I heard something hit the floor from the other side of the door, and Denki scrambled to the door, "Is it really?!"

I nodded and smiled, "I'll start breakfast!"

He smiled and thanked me before checking his phone.

Normally, Denki's parents would cook for us, but I decided that today we'd take a different route. I was actually pretty good at cooking, too.

After I had the entire meal ready, Denki came downstairs smiling like an idiot. Drawn by the smell, Denki's parents quickly came to the kitchen to eat.

As soon as we had devoured our meals, Denki and I headed upstairs to change.

I went with some black leggings and a (Favorite color) tank top. Denki had sweats and a t-shirt on.

Denki's parents drove us to UA where the exam was going to be held.

I smiled, "This is it, Denks. You ready?"

Denki smiled back, "Hell yeah! UA HERE WE COME!"

We started walking forward before I tripped. Denki didn't notice in time, but someone else did. I felt something wrap around my waist and pull me to my feet.

"Yoink! Gotcha. Sorry about that, I figured you'd rather be saved than face plant." I turned around and was greeted by the one who saved me. He was tall, had shoulder-length jet black hair, a sweet smile, and some really creepy elbows.

"The name's Hanta Sero!" Sero smiled an I replied, "(F/N) (L/N) and this is Denki Kaminari." Denki waved to Sero and we continued to the exam room. I looked at Sero, "So is tape your quirk?"

He gave me a toothy grin, "Yep. What's your quirk?"

"Hellstorm. Basically I control wind, water, fire, electricity, and earth."

Sero stopped abruptly and Denki gave him a questioning look, "What? You asked for her quirk."

Sero shook his head, "No, it's just that your quirk is amazing!" I smiled, "Thanks, but I have my parents to thank." Denki nodded, "And me! Doctors say that she deveoped the lightning part because she spent so much time with my family."

Sero looked up as we took our seats, "So does your quirk have something to do with electricity?" "Yeah, it's called electrification. Pretty cool, huh?" Denki replied. I smirked, "Yeah, until you go over your wattage limit and go brain dead for a little while!"

Denki glared at me as Present Mic began to explain the rules of the exam. Basically, there were three kinds of robots scattered around our exam site, one worth one point, one worth two, adn the last one worth three.

About half way through the explanation, a boy with glasses stood up and asked what the fourth robot on the paper was for and told a green-haired boy to shut up.

I cringed, poor kid.

Present Mic continued to explain that the last one was a zero point robot and that we should avoid it. He then told us to go to our designated exam site and I had to split up with Denki and Sero.

I headed to my exam site looking down. This should be easy enough, right?

Present Mic appeared and said that the exam had started.

I began to twist the air around me, skyrocketing into the air. I could control air, but not for very long. I spotted a ton of robots up ahead and flew over to where they were.

Using my fire, I took out a couple two-pointers and sending electricity in the opposite direction, I zapped a three and a one-pointer.

Flying up again, I spotted a few more robots and knowing that I can't control the air much longer, I switched over to earth and brought up a part of the ground to surf on. Making my way over to the robot clutter, I water-blasted a few robots. When I was in the middle of the clutter, I electrified the ground surrounding me, making sure that there was nobody close to me.

After a couple more minutes of this, the zero-pointed came out and began to chase us down.

I looked around the area, making sure everyone was able to get away before surfing on the ground again.

Present Mic announced that our time was up and I knew I had at least 60 points under my belt.

I walked out of the exam site and saw Denki. I ran up to him, "How'd you do?"

He was out of breath, "Dunno, I lost count. We're getting our letters in the mail in two day, right?" I nodded and he continued, "Can't wait. So how'd you do?"

I smiled, "I think I did pretty good, but I totally overused my quirk. I'm feeling a little nauseous, but that's okay. Adrenaline took over." Denki gave me a blank stare, "What's adrenaline mean again?"

I shook my head, "Never mind. You're too stupid t comprehend it."

We walked home that night with our heads held high. I didn't see Sero at all, but I'm sure he did well on the exam.

(Time Skip)

Denki came tearing through the door, "They're here!"

I jolted up from my chair and paused my show, "Really?" He nodded ferociously, "Here's yours!" He handed me an envelope which read;

     Dear Ms. (L/n) (F/N)

Congratulations! You have been accepted into the UA Hero Course! Starting the school year, You will be in class 1-A. We look forward to having you at our prestigious school.

"Oh my gosh I made it!"

I jumped into Denki's arms and shook him, he nodded, "I did too! We're gonna be heroes together (F/N)!"

I hugged him tightly, "I am so excited to start the school year, Denki."

Oi oi oi!

This book is an excuse to create an over powered quirk, but that's okay.

I love Sero so much, he's my favorite character. He's an idiot and he pisses Bakugou off half of the time, what more can I ask for?
