Isn't it kind of amazing how one little thing can make you hate someone? But also, it's amazing how one little thing can make you like someone. Anything that could happen in a span of time as little as a minute, can change our entire perspective of a person. It could be a good change or bad change, the main point is: it's a change.
For example, when I was in 4th grade, I told this one boy that I wanted to be a police officer when I grew up. And this kid had the audacity to tell me that only boys can be police officers, which made me furious. Now, at the time there was this girl in my class who I didn't like because she kept stealing my markers from my desk. But, apparently she overhead my conversation and marched up to this kid and said that whatever boys can do, girls can do too. She then said that she thinks I would make a great police officer and that one day I'd arrest the kid. And on that day, I met my best friend from 4th grade to 12th grade. Unfortunately, after we went to college we lost touch.
The main thing here is, my entire perspective of her changed just because she stood up for me at a time of need. And because of that, I found my best friend that I would have for years to come. She was someone that I used to not like, yet ended up becoming so important to me. So never close yourself off to people. Because one day, they may do something that completely changes how you see them.

Jace's Point of View:
I knew that filing documents wouldn't keep Ms. Collins busy for long. Usually, I would start working immediately with a PA and interview them on my own terms. But I just can't talk to anyone right now, I'm not in the mood. And I definitely do not want to talk to Ms. Collins because I am sure she will flirt with me, just like all my other PA's have done. I may think she's gorgeous, but she is still my PA.
While sitting at my desk going over piles of business proposals I have to read and sign off on, my mind wanders to Ms. Collins. None of my PA's have ever struck my interest like she has. Something about just her presence, is enough to make me want to know everything about her. My thoughts are interrupted when I hear my phone ring.
I pick it up and look at the caller ID, it's Cal one of my workers. Cal has been with us even before my father was killed, he started with the Cobras when he was 18 years old, and he's stayed loyal ever since. I answer the phone and put it up to my ear.
"Have you sealed the deal?" I ask.
"Yes, but I have some bad news." Cal says.
My patience is really being tested today. I close my eyes for a moment and take a long, deep breath before responding to Cal on the other end of the phone.
"I'm not in the mood for bad news." I tell him.
I'm about to hang up the phone when Cal says something that makes me want to scream, "One of our men was picked up by the FBI a few days ago."
"What?" I yell, "Who was it?"
It takes a moment for Cal to grow some balls and tell me, "It was Lester. Two FBI agents came to his house a few days ago, one shot him and then arrested him. We don't know if he's talking or not. His wife called us right after it happened to warn us that the FBI is now getting names of people involved with the Cobras."
"Fuck," I mutter, "Get the names of the two FBI agents that arrested him, they must know about the Cobras business."
I hang up the phone instantly. Where did I go wrong? How did the FBI get too close to us? Shit, he's not going to be happy. Now I have another thing to explain to him. I dive back into my work to distract myself from the fact that one of my men may be talking to the FBI at this very moment.
