Chapter 45 - My Endgame

The end of an era is sad, daunting even. But remember with every ending, is a new beginning just waiting for you to find it. That new beginning can be anything from starting fresh, starting somewhere new, or starting a new life with someone you love.

When you find someone you love, you feel like you're walking on air. Like nothing can go wrong, and that's because nothing can. When you find that person that you want to spend the rest of your life with, all you need is your love. You don't need anything else except their love and yours.

Starting a brand new life with that one person can be scary, but it's so fulfilling. You both have a whole life ahead of you and you get to write your story. You get to decide what happens. You get to bask in the glory of your love. Embrace it, and cherish it. You have an amazing future with the person you love, right in front of you, just waiting to be discovered.

Half a year of wedding preparations and the day is finally here. Jace and I didn't choose a destination wedding. Why would we when our home and everyone we love are right here in D.C.?

So instead, we chose the Dyer Hotel banquet hall. That was, many of the people we're inviting don't have to travel far, and if they do, they have a hotel to stay at. It's perfect. I wouldn't want a wedding anywhere else than where it all started for me and Jace.

The last half-year has been pretty chaotic but in the best way. Our wedding preparations have all gone smoothly, and we're finally ready for our wedding. We're ready to be together forever.

I happily asked Paige if she'd be my maid of honor and she accepted. I also asked Lily to be one of my bridesmaids, along with Shana. Jace chose Jax to be his best man, well, best woman. I didn't expect him to choose anyone else but her. Cal and Lucca are also going to be standing alongside Jace when he gets married. Cam is officiating, and Aidan is the ring bearer.

We also managed to get enough security to keep the press out, we just want a private wedding. A private wedding with just us, our family, friends, and everyone important to them.

The day is here and I've never been so ready for anything. I'm sitting in my individual hotel room, getting ready and I turn on my laptop to catch up on the gossip. Childish, I know, but it keeps me entertained.

Of course, as expected, the first headline is about our wedding today. Everyone is trying to get a peek inside the Dyer Hotel to see the wedding being put together. Some people have taken some pictures from inside the window. But luckily, their security is tight so no one can ruin the day.

The second headling is about Gia and Elena Holloway arriving in D.C. early this morning for the wedding. Jace and I invited them both to the wedding. The four of us have grown closer over these past few months and I enjoy their company.

I scroll through the news more, while putting on makeup, and then there's a knock on the door.

I set my powder down, "Who is it?"

"FBI! Open up!" Paige says through the door.

I laugh and walk over to the door and Paige enters with Lily and Shana. Paige has my wedding dress in her arm, bagged up.

"I have a special delivery!" Paige says.

I look at my friends. The three of them are wearing their pink bridesmaids' dresses with their hair and makeup done. They look beautiful and I'm so fortunate that I get to share today with the three of them as well.

Paige hands the dress to Lily, "Are you excited?"

"I'm so excited, but also nervous."

"Don't worry, Jace is too. Jax texted saying how he can't decide what tie to wear."
