There are times in our lives when we have to do things that we really don't want to do. It's happened to me many times. I'd have to do things for the police academy of FBI academy that I didn't want to do. Like when I had to be tased during the police academy to pass training. That was tough and it hurt like a bitch. But sometimes there are things that we just really don't want to do. Things that we feel like if we did them it would take all we had in ourselves to accomplish them.
In life, anyone can become successful. And often times people have to do things they don't want to in order to get to where they want to be. In my career, I do things I don't want to all the time. It's not fun to arrest people and derail their whole lives or their families lives. But I have to do it because it's the law and it's the right thing to do.
Moral of the story: in order to have the life that you want to live, you have to be willing to do things you don't want to; no matter how much they break you.

I honestly don't know what to make of what happened during the meeting. Jace continued to stare at me for the majority of the time but he never said anything to me. It's almost like he wasn't staring at me, but trying to stare right through me. He wants to know more about me, I can tell. But for what reason?
After the meeting ended, everyone went their separate ways. Cooper and Jace both went back to their offices, just as I did. I had to take care of some work that Jace had asked me to do. Luckily, all of this work has been pretty self explanatory and hasn't required much business knowledge — at least none that I can't look up on my phone.
I'm sitting at my desk doing over paperwork when I hear my desk phone beep and Jace's voice comes through it.
"Ms. Collins, can you please come to my office. I need to talk to you about something."
The phone clicks as Jace hangs up and for the first time, I'm nervous to go see Jace. What could he possibly have to talk to talk to me about? I didn't do anything wrong, did I? I know there's no way he could have figured out who I really am, the FBI has been so careful with my identity. Was it about the date?
I get up out of my chair and slowly make the short walk to Jace's office. His door is open for me and he's sitting inside — not head deep in his work. He's staring at me, like he's been waiting for me for years. I don't dare to make eye contact with him even though I have done nothing wrong.
I walk into his office and sits down right away. The thought of him firing me enter my mind, and how that can ruin the entire assignment.
"I know that you are going on a date with Mr. Matthews tonight," Jace blurts out.
I feel my nerves wash away and they're quickly replaced with embarrassment. I remember when I listened in to their conversation in Jace's office. Of course, Cooper couldn't keep his mouth shut about our date. He probably even tweets when he uses the bathroom. My cheeks flush and I nod my head ever so slightly.
I look down at my lap, "I'm so sorry. I know it's against work morals to go on a date with a superior. He asked me out and I only said yes to be polite to one of my bosses. I can go cancel it immediately."
Normally, I would not let anyone tell me who I can and cannot go out with, but for the sake of getting close to Jace, I have to bend a little here. I need to go on this date with Cooper, but I also have to make it clear to Jace that I'm not interested in him.
Jace laughs a little, "I don't mind you going on the date. Just know that you won't be getting any special treatment for dating one of your superiors."
"I have no intention to date him it's just one date to be polite." I tell him.
"I believe that you are the only person who would go on a date with Mr. Matthews just to be polite. Just, please be alert. Mr. Matthews is typically only after one thing — sex."
