Do you ever have those days where it can be complete shit, and then everything is suddenly perfect and you feel pure happiness? We can only dream to have those days once in our life, if not more. It's like suddenly the sun shines through the clouds, the birds begin to sing, and a rainbow appears.
This sense of perfection can sometimes come from happiness. And when it does, it feels amazing. The happiness, itself, can come from anything. Maybe it came from an object, maybe something someone said, maybe a pet. Or maybe sometimes, it can come from a person. One person can make everything perfect and give you this unending happiness.
When this perfect happiness comes from a person, it can be pretty magical. It's almost as if there's such a strong connection between you two that it has the ability to change your entire mindset at the moment. The person can be a friend or someone you love like a family member or a partner. When this happiness stems from someone you love, that's when you know, you've hit the jackpot.

I'm happy. For the first time in 7 months, I'm actually happy. I'm happy because I'm sitting here, on my couch, next to the love of my life. And we're not arguing anymore, we're not yelling, we're not crying. We're starting at each other, smiling. Looking into each other's eyes like we used to.
There's this clear bubble of adoration around us. But this bubble won't pop, I won't let it. It's a magical bubble that's here to stay. It's perfect. Everything about this moment is perfect.
But all perfect moments have to come to an end because we broke up for a reason, and we haven't calmly and reasonably talked about it or even discussed it in that manner. So I have to bring it up, I have to bring up the inevitable topic that will come up eventually. Might as well rip the bandage off quickly, right?
I shift a little on the couch, "I thought you said you never wanted to see me again. Why did you come tonight?"
"I was a dick. I never meant anything that I said."
"Then why did you say it?"
Jace thinks for a moment as if he's struggling to find the words, "I thought it would be easier to push you away than it would to try and work through things and get hurt again."
"I would never hurt you again, I never wanted to in the first place."
"I know that now, but I couldn't see that before," He looks me in the eyes, "I'm so sorry for everything that's happened. These seven months without you have been complete misery from him."
I look away from Jace and grab a magazine that's on the coffee table, hidden by another magazine. I didn't even want to look at it. Every time I did it broke me.
I hand it to Jace, "It doesn't seem like it was misery."
It's a gossip magazine and on the cover is a picture of Jace with the title, 'The Playboy Is Back!' I watch as Jace looks at the magazine and flips through the pages until he finds the one about him. He quickly reads through it, looks at the pictures, and then back at me.
"Shit, I haven't even looked at any of these."
"Seriously? They've been all over the place. You're the talk of the city, Mr. Playboy."
Jace sets the magazine down, "None of them meant anything, none of them. They were all a distraction, someone to take my mind off you. But none of them worked. I was always thinking about you and it got to the point where I took home women who wore the same perfume as you, just so I could have a little part of you."
"It doesn't mean it hurt any less, seeing you every night with a different girl. Knowing that they were sleeping in the same bed I used to."
"I don't even know what to say."
