Cooper felt like he was hit by a bus, the bright light coming in, not helping. His head was throbbing, and it physically hurt to open his eyes from how dry they felt. At first, he thought he was in his room because of the blue walls, but then he realized there was so much more sunlight, and it was colder than it usually was, even smelled different.
Where the heck was he? And why did his head hurt so bad? And why didn't he have any clothes on...
The only clothing piece was his black boxers, but the rest were nowhere to be seen. By now, he wasn't even curious; he was just scared.
Was he kidnapped? Did someone....?
He heard the doorknob turning from one of the doors, and he braced himself for who it could've been. The door opened, and in came none other than River Brooks. The tall, wealthy kid from Concordia, also the guy that Cooper hasn't talked to in a month.
Cooper sat up in the bed, confused and met River's eyes, who also looked a little shocked. There was complete silence as River just stood there in a white shirt and grey sweats.
"Oh, hello."
Cooper stayed quiet, trying to remember what happened. "What's going on? Where are my clothes?" His tone sounding bothered at the end.
River looked at him, taken aback. "Someone's not a morning person."
"How can I be when I have no idea where I am or how I got here...and practically naked." Cooper lifted the blanket up more, so it covered his chest.
River looked at him with narrowed eyes, "You don't remember anything? Like nothing at all?"
Cooper glanced back at him, cautiously, "No? Why did something happen?"
River sat on the edge of the bed and looked over at Cooper, who was wrapped in the blankets. "Not that I know of. What do you remember?"
Cooper rubbed his temples, trying to get the pain to stop, "Um, I remember going to the dance with this girl, and then us leaving to go somewhere. But nothing after that."
River cleared his throat, "I don't know everything, but basically, you got shitfaced, drunk at a party. Your date made out with you, but her brother freaked out, and they left. You called me thinking I was your dad, I went to pick you up, got you something to eat, you didn't want to go home, so I brought you here."
"Okay, but what about my clothes?"
Cooper believed him, but something was still off, to which River let out a laugh, "You threw up when we got here, but fell and got it all over yourself. I tried giving you clothes, but you claimed you were too hot to wear anything."
"That's so disgusting. I'm never getting drunk again." Cooper was disgusted with himself and didn't want to hear anymore, but River went on.
"Drunk you was kinda fun, though. You kept quoting vines, and I learned you love Whataburger."
"Oh, god. Did I do anything else?" Cooper desperately hoped he didn't make a fool out of himself. As far as he can remember, he and Riley did nothing but drink and talk, but he can't recall anything else.
"No. Your clothes are in the washer. I had to wait until our housekeeper came, but I figured you'd want to shower." River got up to get something from the bathroom before coming back out, leaning on the doorframe with one hand in his pocket and another holding a towel.
