The next day, Cooper got to school later than usual. He still wasn't feeling the greatest, so his mom dropped him off 30 minutes before school started.

While at his locker, Miles, Parker, and Jason came up to him. "Hey man, how you feeling?" Miles said. Cooper looked up and shrugged his shoulders, "I'm alright. That stupid fall got in my way."

"Yeah, we saw, dude, you like, rolled" Jason let out a laugh while Parker held his arm and made a face, "Yea, I felt the pain through that video."

"It looks worse than it is," Cooper reassured them. "How long are you out?" Miles asked, curious. "Six to eight weeks, but after that, I'm coming back."

Parker looked at him, surprised, "You're going to miss our first game?" Cooper loved the guys, but he didn't like how they felt they needed him in order to win a game. "Maybe, but even if I do, y'all will be fine. You got this"

Before anyone could say anything else, the bell rang. Cooper shut his locker as they guys groaned and dispersed. Entering the biology classroom, Cooper and Jason went to their arranged seats.

Mrs. Atkins walked in and quickly noticed how bruised Cooper looked, "Ouch, what happened to you?" She asked with a look of pain. Cooper just waved it off, "Oh, just a skateboard incident."

"Looks painful, here are some papers that were passed out yesterday. We're decorating our hallway for the Halloween contest on Friday. The winner gets a pizza party. Some teachers are giving out extra credit if you show up so I would take that opportunity"

Cooper nodded and looked through the papers until it was time to do the pledge of allegiance. Sitting back down, he started doodling on his notebook while the announcements went on.

"Good morning, Bulldogs!! Happy Tuesday! On today's date, October 25, 2016, there will be a table during lunch where you can purchase a Boo for $5 from our cheerleaders. They're raising money for their trip to nationals! Show your support by giving your Boo a boo.

Our football team has their final game this Friday against the Concordia Commanders. It's a home game, so be there by 6pm to show your Bulldog pride!

And don't forget about the Halloween contest! Winners will be announced at the pep-rally this Friday.

Cooper's ears perked up at the mention of his school playing against Concordia. He wondered if River was going to go.

"Alright, you all are dismissed. Have a nice day!"

All-day long, he had people ask him what happened, not sure why they asked; they follow him on Instagram. He was also was late for every class because all his teachers had him stay after to get what he missed on Monday.

Finally, going to lunch, he waited until the line died down so he could get his lunch. "Hi Luz," he said nicely. "Hi, Cooper. Did you get hit by a car?" They both let out light laughs. "Hah, no. I tried doing a trick on my skateboard and fell."

She shook her head and handed him his lunch, "Ugh, my son used to skateboard when he was a kid. He was good, but he was always getting hurt. I finally told him one day, "If you fall one more time I'm taking it away""

"And did he?" He asked, curious. "He fell, but he didn't get hurt, so there wasn't anything I could do" she looked disappointed. "Haha. Yeah, I think my mom's ready to take it away."
