Chapter 6 - Cures
~ Nikki's POV ~
I stared at Ethan standing in front of me, my eyes wide open like a hawk.
My mind couldn't process the turn of events. There were too many thoughts - is he going to use my again? did he want me back? did I want him back?
but most importantly: how dare he touch me?
"Baaabbbyy..." Ethan slurred with his hands still on my waist.
It took my mind a while to realise what he had just said and that's when my mind began to work.
"Get your filthy hands off me, Ethan. We are through and you said so yourself." I narrowed my eyes at him and shoved him back.
He stumbled back but, when he regained his balance soon after, his hands found their way to my hips.
I was trying to keep my cool but the way his hands were moving on my waist tempted me to break his nose and dislocate his arm.
"You miss meeee, Nikkiiii, don't you?" Ethan stretched his words.
I didn't respond. Instead, I just stared at him, completely stunned. He had never been drunk - well, as far as I knew, he hadn't.
"Come with me, babeee." Ethan said, pulling me towards a room in the corner.
I had dated Ethan for three years and this was the first time I saw him as intimidating. We were fourteen years old and in eighth grade. I had a crush on him and rumours started spreading that Ethan liked me too. I still remember that he came up to the table my friends and I were sitting at and looked really nervous. After a couple of minutes of saying half sentences, he asked me out. I said yes and we had been going out till yesterday.
"Ethan, let go of me. I need to get back to my friends." I said, referring to Jace, Liam, Kyle and Hailey.
"Only for half an hour." Ethan's hands began running up and down my back and he started kissing my neck and cheeks.
My breathing was uneven and for a split second I wanted to kiss him back. But I reminded myself that he was part of the reason I left. I tried to push to off of me but his grip was to strong. He began to pull me toward the room when a fist collided with his jaw, setting me free from his grip.
I turned to see Jace, who picked Ethan up by the collar of his shirt.
"Keep your hands off of her." Jace punched Ethan again and a crowd had now gathered around us.
Ooo's and ahh's were let out by the crowd whenever Jace threw a punch.
Ethan didn't even manage to get a single hit since he was so drunk - or maybe Jace was far too experienced for him.
I screamed out to Jace, telling him to stop, but he ignored me. When Ethan got the chance, he pulled scrambled away from Jace like a mouse and ran through the exit.
The crowd dissolved and went back to drinking, dancing and making out. Ethan turned to me and spoke up.
"Did he do anything else that I didn't see?" Jace asked me worriedly.
"No. That was it. I just came from the toilet and he grabbed me. I told him to let go but he didn't listen. He kept pushing it and I didn't know what to do." I was overwhelmed and words just rushed out of my mouth.
Jace placed a hand on my shoulder, nodding in understandment. "Don't worry, he won't be back. Let's go, I'm going to guess the guys and Hailey already heard about the fight."
