Emma's pov
No one argued or disagreed with idea. They were actually taking this breakfast burrito adventure pretty seriously. We all piled into the car and I made sure I sat next to Luke. I waited until everyone else was too busy with their own conversations until I spoke to him.
"Hey, Ashton told me you helped choose the necklace." I said as I played with it around my neck.
"Yeah, it was no big deal though. Honestly, he wouldn't have made it out of there alive if someone didn't go with him. You should have seen his face." He chuckled.
"Thanks."
"No problem. Ashton's a lucky guy." He smiled.
"Yeah, well I'm lucky too. I got Ashton and three other annoying oversized Australians. Glad I met you."
"Did you just call me fat?"
"Let's just say you should order the vegetarian burrito. Those long legs are looking a little stumpy." I teased.
"Gee, don't bother sugarcoating it or anything. I can take it." He joked, wiping a way a fake tear.
"We're here." Ashton announced pulling into the parking lot of a sketchy looking Mexican place.
"Don't worry. I heard it the food is great." Calum assured me. I just nodded, hoping he was right.
Ashton grabbed my hand and we all walked inside, some more excitedly than others. We took a seat and ironically Luke did order a vegetarian burrito. I didn't even know one existed when I made the joke.
"You know I was kidding when I said you should get the vegetarian burrito."
"Yeah, I know. It just sounded good." He shrugged.
"I'll be right back." Calum said, standing up. He came back a couple minutes later, trying to act as normal as possible, but he was smiling a little too much. Suddenly, a mariachi band walked in playing an obnoxiously loud song. I jumped a little, not expecting such a crazy entrance. I immediately looked over to Calum who was smiling so big his teeth were showing.
"Just thought a serenade by someone other than our lame band would be cool." He said.
"Hey, we're not that lame." Michael protested.
"We suck." Luke joked.
Ashton just danced in his chair, having the time of his life and I couldn't help but laugh. How did I manage to fall in love with this weirdo? When the song ended, we clapped and they tipped their hats before they walked away.
"Ok, that was awesome." Ashton said.
"I want a hat like that." Michael said, staring at the sombreros the band was wearing.
That's when the waitress came with our burritos and I was pretty hungry. But I didn't dig in right away like everyone else. It suddenly hit me again that I was leaving I watched Ashton, his laugh filling the room, making me feel all fuzzy inside. Michael was having a hard time laughing and chewing. Calum just kept shaking his head, not believing his band mates were so weird and Luke and the guacamole were inseparable.
"How come you're not eating?" Luke asked, dipping his burrito in the guacamole.
"Sorry, I zoned out." I chuckled, trying to keep my composure. I wanted nothing, but to stay.
"You ok?" He grew concerned, putting his burrito down.
"Yeah, it all kinda just hit me." I blinked quickly to get rid of the tears.
"Don't cry because you're going to make me cry. Fuck." He said looking up so that tears wouldn't fall.
"What the hell is going on?" Michael asked, confused.
"Oh no." Calum froze and his eyes stated to water.
"Crap." Ashton said, putting down his burrito. I laughed a little at how strange we probably looked to everyone around us. Four crying with half eaten burritos in front of us.
"I love you guys you know that?" I chuckled.
"I love you too." Calum mumbled, wiping his eyes.
"How about we get going?" Ashton said as he grabbed my hand. I squeezed his hand, needing some comfort.
"Waiter, we need some boxes to go!" Michael yelled across the restaurant. I laughed harder at how much of a mess we all were. I swear I could never go out with these guys without making some kind of a scene, but I wouldn't have had it any other way. We all got in the car and now one spoke as we passed by the airport sign. I looked at the airplanes taking off and landing and I wanted nothing to do with it unless Ashton was with me. I knew I was a baby for worrying about this since it was only three months but in one day my life turned around completely. In one day Ashton left twice, my dad accepted me for who I was and then I found out he was sick. Those three months without Ashton were hell. In one week I managed to gain 3 new best friends and fix everything with Ashton. Time was scary. Either everything happened so fast or it seems like there was no end and I didn't know how the next three months would be and it scared me.
Ashton's pov
We parked the car and for a while no one moved. No one wanted to unless it was to get away from here. I looked ahead, not wanting to see how everyone else was holding up, but we had to go. I was about to look over to Emma when she opened the door and and stepped out slamming it as she walked to the trunk to grab her bag. I looked over to the guys and they looked at me worriedly.
"It's ok." I said, knowing this was normal. I sighed, following her. She pulled out her bag angrily and flung it over her shoulder.
"Hey, you ok?" I asked taking her bag from her.
"Yeah, fine." She shrugged, impatiently tapping her foot as she waited for the boys to get out of the car.
"Ok, come on." I whispered, offering her my hand. She didn't want to talk, but she had a plane to catch. She looked at me with sad eyes, but she grabbed my hand and we made our way to check her in. We were all quiet and I think that made everything even worse. We would just look at each other and smile sadly, not able to say anything.
We made our way through security and we walked her over to the correct gate with 30 minutes to spare and that was when everything crashed down.

Just one more chapter left, but don't worry cuz there will be an epilogue.
