Ashton's pov
I was at the jewelry store in the same situation I was in about a year ago. Luke was by my side, but this time instead of choosing necklaces I was lost in a sea of rings.
"How the fuck do you tell the difference? They all look the same." I muttered under my breath.
Luke chuckled, leaning over towards the counter getting a better look at the rings. I was getting a headache from how nerve wracking this was.
"Ok do you know what size she wants?" Luke asked turning to me.
"She's a girl. Don't they like big rings so they can show it off?"
"This is Emma, we are talking about. Do you really think she wants what every other girl wants?"
"Good point." I replied.
"Dude calm down. You're not asking her yet. This is just a ring." He said, laughing a little.
"Can you not laugh at me as I lose my mind right now? Just keep looking at the rings." I whined, pushing his head down towards the counter.
"Ok ok, damn." He chuckled. I looked down and the rings still all looked the same until I got to the last row, which all looked more old fashion.
Then I saw it. It was square cut, almost flat. It didn't protrude out so much and designs carved into the ring on the sides going down towards the middle.
"Can I see that one?" I asked the lady as I pointed to it.
"Our vintage collection. Good choice." She said smiling as she pulled it and put in in my hand.
"What do you think?" I handed it to him.
"She's gonna love it." He nodded, handing it back to me.
"You think?" I said holding it up.
"Dude you worry to much." He turned to the lady and said, "We'll take it."
Emma's pov
I walked into Ashton's house and turned on the kitchen lights, setting my bags down on the floor and searching for a snack when Harry ran in.
"Emma, Ashton has a surprise for you!"
He said, almost yelling.
"Does he now?" I smiled before biting into an apple.
"Yeah he said everything you need is in his room and to be ready in 2 hours."
"Do you have any idea what he's planning?" I asked, hoping to pry some information out of the boy.
"If I knew something I would have told you already." He giggled.
"That's true. Thanks for telling me." I replied, giggling as well.
"No problem." He walked out of the room and I made my way to Ashton's room. He did this sometimes. I'd come home from school and he'd have a surprise. We would go out and eat or just hang out. I thought it was something like that, not that big of a deal but then I walked into his room and I knew that wasn't the case. A black dress was on his bed and my black heels that I rarely used were in the floor.
My jewelry box was next to the dress on on top was a note.

Hey!
I have a surprise! It's going to be a little fancier than usual so I got you this dress. I hope it fits well. I got your own shoes because I know heels aren't your thing and I don't understand the women's mind when they accessorize so I just grabbed the entire box. Be ready by 6.
Love, Ashton
P.S. It's cold so just grab one of my jackets because I know you are going to take one anyways.

I smiled setting the note down. The feeling came back consuming me. I grabbed the dress and put it up towards me. It was plain, no sparkles or ruffles. It wasn't too tight which was great and not too short. It fell about mid thigh and all it had was a silver zipper down the front instead of the back.
I looked at the clock and saw I had an hour an a half. I picked up my phone and called some one who could help me with all this stuff.
15 minutes later Alex burst through the door her arms in the air and a big smile on her face.
"Are you ready?!" She squealed.
"Uh I guess." I shrugged nonchalantly.
"Emma!" She said shaking me the shoulders.
"Ok ok yes I'm excited. No need to shake me like a maraca." I giggled.
She started doing my hair which took a lot longer than I expected.
"Can you stop moving?" She huffed, pulling my hair.
"Can you not make me bald?" I replied flinching as she pulled my hair. Then she moved onto my make up. I kept sneezing or flinching so she kept yelling at me to hold still. I laughed, enjoying making it harder than it needed to be.
"I'm finished." She said clapping her hands. I looked up and saw she actually did a good job. My usually wavy and messy hair was curly but not too overdone. My make up natural but just enough to actually make me look nice.
"You didn't fuck up as much as I thought you would." I joked. She slapped me across the head lightly.
"Hey!" She exclaimed, laughing at little.
"I'm kidding. Thanks for all of this."
"No problem. Have fun tonight and don't forget to call me to tell me everything."
"Will do." I said waving as she went out.
I put on the dress and strapped on my heels. I opened up the box and grabbed a couple bracelets and rings. I didn't need a necklace. I never took off the one Ashton have me. I grabbed one of his jeans jackets that didn't fit me too big. I looked in the mirror, please with what I saw and looked for Harry.
"Harry do you how I'm getting there?" I yelled, but a deep familiar voice answered instead.
"You're walking there." Ashton said, giggling but he stopped when he saw me.
"You look nice. Really nice." He said, nervously running the back of his neck, smiling a little.
"Thanks, for the compliment and the dress. And you don't look half bad yourself." I said, noticing him in a black button down shirt and black skinny jeans. He left his usually combat boots and had actual dress shoes on.
"Nice shoes." I chuckled.
"They pinch." He mumbled as he shook his feet out. I walked over to him and wrapped my arms around him before asking, "So where are we going?"
"You always ask but you know I'm never going to tell you."
"Maybe one day you'll surprise me and just tell me." I shrugged.
"Hmm maybe one day I will, but right now we have to go."
He grabbed my hand and we headed out to his old beat up car.
I turned up the radio as we drove down the road. I could barely hear it over the engine but I didn't mind.
We stopped in front of an old construction zone that was too familiar.
"How is my secret spot fancy?" I asked as he killed the engine.
"For tonight it is. Come on." He said opening the door. I followed him out and he held my hand as we walked past all the equipment to the field. A blanket was on the grass and a basket was full of wine and a box of pizza.
"Pizza?" I asked, holding in my laugh.
"Do you really want anything else right now?"
"No, pizza is perfect."
"That's what I thought." Ashton smiled. I looked out towards the city, watching the lights flow and shine.
"Haven't been here in a while. This was actually just what I needed."
Ashton put his arms around me and I rested my head on his shoulder.
"Just trying to make you happy." He said as if there was nothing to it, almost like this was no big deal, but it was for me. It didn't matter if we just went for ice cream or if we went out to a fancy dinner, it was just the fact that he put in a little extra thought was what mattered.
"So there's a reason why we got all dressed up today." Ashton said turning to me. I waited for an answer when Michael, Alex, Luke, Calum, and my mom stepped out towards.
"Uhhh what are they doing here?"
"Nice to see to see you too Emma." Calum replied sarcastically.
I turned back to Ashton who suddenly got on one knee and I finally understood.
"Oh my god." I squeaked.
"You are the best thing that's ever happened to me. I'm going to be super cheesy and tell you how much I love everything about you and everything that you do. You're the most sarcastic pain in the butt sometimes, but you are the most hardworking and kindest person I know. You are so smart it amazes me how you just come up with these things. You are always willing to do anything with me. You come with me to go get donuts at 2 in the morning and you are always at every show you can make it to. You always support me even though it's one of the hardest things to do and I love you for that. I love everything about you and so I just want to ask....will you marry me?"
I tried to say yes but all that came out was the breath I didn't notice I was holding, so I just nodded.
"Yeah?" He said breathing out as well.
"Yes." I squeaked.
"Bro the ring." Michael coughed.
"Oh yeah right." Ashton dug out a black velvet box from his pocket. He opened it to a beautiful ring and I gasped a little. This was actually happening. He took it out and slipped in into my finger. I was shaking and I laughed a little.
"Holy shit." I whispered.
"I'm taking that as a good thing." He said standing up and pulling me into a kiss. The feeling came back and it felt like a combination of butterflies and electricity. All these emotions were coursing through my body and with his arms around me and his lips on mine I just fell into him. I was weak.
"Wooo! Let's eat pizza!" Luke yelled his arms in the air. I laughed, pulling away.
"Come on let's celebrate." Ashton said motioning to the picnic.
"I love you." I whispered.
"I love you too." He replied kissing my forehead. We sat down and Michael popped open the wine and poured us all a glass. Everyone was happy, telling us congratulations and just telling me how cute this all was, but I was the happiest. I was truly and completely happy and it was all because of him. He was my everything.

Ok the next chapter should be obvious. It's the wedding! Woo! Hope you guys like it and please don't hesitate to comment or vote! Love you guys. Thanks for the 6.9 k! That's just insane. You are the best!
