"Morning Viv, morning Gary," I greet as I sashay to the elevator on Friday.

"Morning," they say in unison.

The building is pretty busy today as it's been all week since the new investors came. I managed to push, you know who, out of my brain while I drafted some new logo designs. Just as I was sitting at my desk, my phone rang and I quickly grabbed it answering before looking at the contact.

"Ariiii!" I instantly hear my best friend Gabrielle scream from the other end of the phone.

Gabrielle and I have been friends since we were in elementary school and we've stuck by each other's side through literally everything. We are like two peas in a pod.

"Hey Gabi, what's up, I'm at work right now" I sing back to her as I start pulling up the designs I've come up with on my laptop. I hear her shuffling in the background.

"Oh shit, I forgot, I just wanted to ask if you wanted to go out tonight"

"Yes, I'll text you when I get off and you can shoot over to my place. "

"Okay bye," she yells before hanging up the phone. I throw my phone in my purse while smiling at the thought of my perky friend. She's always so energetic unlike my other best friend Devin, he's always so chill and laid back. Me, on the other hand, I'm like a mixture between them both and that's how we all fit together. The three amigos.

After meeting with Thomas to show him the designs that I've drafted and being praised for how good they came out, Johnathan, Tess, and I all went downstairs for lunch.

"This week has been so tiring man, I hate it when we get new investors. Mr. Baker always pushes us into overdrive trying to impress them." Tess complains as we move through the line in front of the lunch buffet.

"Honestly, and I heard these investors are going to be more active in the business to ensure that we're bringing back the profits that they expect, " Johnathan replies.

I just shrug my shoulders at their complaints because I don't need anyone ruining my mood today. Today is Friday, Thomas loved my designs, and I'm going out with my friends tonight. Speaking of, " Do you guys wanna go out tonight with me and my friends?"

"Tonight? No, I can't. Sorry, I have an appointment." Johnathan declares as we all sit and begin eating.

I shift my eyes to Tess who is already shaking her head 'no'. I shrug and begin eating my salad. "What kind of appointment do you have at night?" I ask waving my fork at him while I pick up my water drinking some.

" A dick appointment girl, what else would it be?" He looks at me as if my question was ridiculous.

I nearly spit out my water at his ridiculous claim and grab a napkin to wipe my mouth. Tess' face is now a bright red as she tries to cover up her amuse.

"I wish I didn't ask."

By two, I was packed up and on my way out the office when I shot my friend Devin a text, asking if he wanted to join me and Gabi out tonight. He accepted my invite and I told him to meet me at my place around ten. Once I arrived at my loft, I quickly called Gabrielle and told her she could come by now. While I waited for her to arrive, I began rummaging around in the kitchen looking for snacks until I found some chips.

She arrived shortly after hanging up and we sat around catching each other up on the week that we've both had. "So this Adonis" she starts and I hold my hand up before she could even finish "Ah, I don't wanna hear it!"

She bursts out laughing " You don't even know what I was going to say !" Gabrielle sat with her big brown eyes that accompanied her thick full lashes and lips practically begging for answers. She was petite and cute and full of spirit under all that melanin.

"Doesn't matter."

Ten o'clock rolled around pretty fast. Devin had arrived around nine and had been waiting for us  to finish getting ready. Gabrielle took the liberty of filling him in on Mr. Wilson being sure to exaggerate it fully.

"Are y'all ready yet?" Devin yells impatiently from the couch downstairs.

I walk over to the balcony and glare and my handsome friend. He's sporting jet black jeans with an olive green sweater and some grey sneakers. His thin gold necklace hanging from neck to matching his gold watch and his locks tied in a messy bun atop his head. " Shut up Devin we're almost done." I quip.

Shortly after, Gabi and I make our way down the stairs with Devin and we're on our way to the club. Her, wearing a maroon strapless thigh-length dress with tiny golden specs all over it. She  paired it with her golden heels and clutch, and I, a black body con dress with a mesh overlay and red pumps. We excitedly compliment each other on our looks and both tell Devin how handsome he looks.

When we arrive at the club, it is pretty crowded, but we make our way to the bar and tell the bartender our drink orders. Devin agreed to pay for the drinks tonight since he wasn't going to be drinking. He's never been much of a drinker. I ordered a fireball martini and Gabrielle got a strawberry daiquiri. We both downed our drinks in no time before we were rushing to the dance floor dragging Devin along with us, despite his protests.

Gabi and I dance around on Devin noting all of the women giving us nasty looks. All we did was laugh among each other at their ignorance to our friendship. After a while, Gabi and I went back to the bar to get us another drink before I told the bartender to start a tab.

"Girl, look at Devin out there," Gabi yelled over the music just as it died down for the song to change. Laughter spilled out of me as she quickly turned around to avoid her embarrassment. As I was finishing my martini, I shifted my eyes to my friend dancing around all of the women and then my attention moved past him to the striking man sitting at the booth across the room.
