The rest of the week was full of extended work hours and progress meetings. Silas and I talked every day, but we hadn't seen each other since Wednesday. After he told me that his mother wanted to meet me, we haven't said anything else about it. However, that didn't keep my mind from going into over drive with scenarios and questions.
Here I am now, Friday night, getting ready for this party. Last night I completed the daunting task of retwisting my hair. Standing in the mirror, I mentally whine as I began unraveling the flexi rods. Doing your own hair is such a trifle. Nevertheless, I was happy with the way the curls formed. After doing my makeup, it was time for the dress.
I took the liberty of having it steam pressed earlier today because I didn't trust myself to do it. Removing the dress from the hanger, I down it on my body carefully. If the mirror was alive, it would be drooling right now. The dress showed off all of my curves. It clung to my body like skin. The v neckline hugged my breasts. There was no way I would be able to wear a bra with this. The mermaid design gave the dress a dramatic flare.
After slipping on a pair of dainty silver heels to match the diamonds on the choker, I grab the matching clutch with my phone and keys inside. Silas and I opted to meet each other there since both of us had things to do beforehand.
As I pulled up to the event, I decided to park my own car instead of using the valet. I was a bit nervous as I walked towards the building. The ballroom was set up beautifully. The middle of the room was empty while the left and right sides consisted of round tables with flowered centerpieces.
A waiter came up to me and offered me a glass of champagne which I graciously took. Soon enough, I spotted Johnathan and Tess sitting at a table and I made my way over.
"Hey guys." Both of them turned around and Johnathan's eyes bugged.
"If I wasn't gay, you would definitely be on my to do list tonight. Ari, girl, you look good!" Johnathan exclaimed. Tess smiled and expressed her agreement.
"You guys look great too. Who knew you looked good in a suit." I smiled.
"I did," he responded.
I felt a familiar presence behind me and my arms began forming goosebumps. Taking a sip of my champagne, I turned around to face him and boy my eyes were not ready. He looked absolutely captivating. Nothing looks better than a fine man in a black suit. His white button down was complemented by a necktie the color of my dress. The small cuff links held the letters 'SW'. Cocky. After I finished drinking in his body, I gave him my eyes only to find him drinking in mine.
"Words can't explain the things I want to do to you right now," Silas whispered in my ear. I refrained from biting my lip so that I wouldn't smear the lipstick. I smiled up at him.
"You look handsome."
"And you are unmistakably breathtaking." I blushed. Silas directed his eyes towards Johnathan and Tess. "Mind if I steal her for a moment?" Johnathan happily sent me away.
Resting his hand in my bare back, Silas guided me towards the middle of the room where there were a few people dancing. Once we were on the floor, I placed my hands around his neck as we began swaying to the music.
"You really do look beautiful. Apart of me wants to hide you from all the prying eyes around here." I laugh and shake my head.
"You can't stop people from looking Silas, but thank you."
"You're showing a lot of skin." I pull back a little and look at him.
"Should have thought about that before you bought it."
Before he could respond, Baker showed up. "Mr. Wilson, it's so good to see you."
Silas released me and turned to him. "You as well Mr. Baker. This is a lovely event you have here."
