"You taught me the courage of stars before you left. How light carries on endlessly, even after death. With shortness of breath, you explained the infinite. How rare and beautiful it is, to even exist."

Dress shopping was hard, especially when it was the day before prom. I didn't know what kind I wanted, even with Jasmine's help. Daddy had taken Rue to go suit shopping while Jasmine had taken me for dresses. I was getting tired of walking through the aisles aimlessly, but Jasmine still dragged me onwards.

The awkwardness had now completely vanished and she was back to being my best friend and acted as an aunt role while I was in little space. She still bossed me around like she used to but still made me giggle when I was down. This time around she pointed to a purple dress. It was deep dark purple with silk that was skin tight. It had straps and fabric that flowed from the shoulders down to the floor. It was adorned with a belt of jewels at the waist. It was absolutely breathtaking.

She looked at it and then me nervously, "So do you like it? Or do you think I should keep looking?"

I shook my head no quickly. "Absolutely not. Try it on! You're going to look ravishing in it!" I egged her on.

She let out a sigh of relief and went to the dressing room to put it on. When she came out, I looked at her in awe. The dress was form-fitting to all of her curves and made her look stunning.

Jasmine looked at the mirror and admired herself. "This is the one," she said.

I nodded in agreement and she took one last look at herself before she turned her attention towards me, "Your turn."

I groaned but got up and started looking through the racks once more while she took off her dress and brought it to the register. I kept an eye out and nearly barfed at all the pink and blue dresses they had. My eyes popped out though when I saw a bit of pastel yellow fabric peeking out amongst the hell of Barbie dresses.

I pulled it out and nearly froze. It was beautiful. It had long lace sleeves and flowed down to the floor with a small train behind it. It had a simple yellow ribbon at the waist and an intricate open back lace concept. It was mine. I rushed to try it on without waiting for Jasmine and was immediately in love. I felt like a fairy about to grant wishes to all who needed it.

Jasmine has managed to find me with her dress bagged up so it wouldn't get ruined. Her mouth opened up with surprise as she said, "You look absolutely amazing, Sav. That's the one."

I looked at her and smiled, "You really think so?".

She nodded quickly and responded, "I know so."

I grinned from ear to ear and twirled around one last time before taking it off so we could purchase it. Happy to finally be out of the store, Jasmine and I walked back to the car. She put the dresses in the back seat and I looked at her questioningly when she covered the horrid booster seat that was awaiting me in the back seat.

"You can sit in the front seat. Just this once though, and you can't tell Sebastian. He'd kill me if he found out."

"Yay!" I rushed to hug her tightly as a thank you. I hopped in the front seat for the first time in months and felt like a grown-up for once. Sebastian was a little overprotective and made me sit in the booster seat even out of little space. I didn't mind though because most of the time it made me feel taller. However, these rare occurrences that I was able to sit in the front seat, I cherished them.
