22 (In Denial)

The day of the event came. Sobrang busy lalo na ako dahil ako ang incharge sa food. Wala ako sa event hall dahil pano ko hahatiin ang katawan ko e busy ako sa preparations.

10:30am sigiro natapos lahat ng preparations thank God. 11:30pm ang lunch break so marami akong time.

"Excuse me... Can I have a dessert please? Parang bumababa yung sugar ko e. I need something sweet." Ani ng babae. It's Violet.

I gave her leche flan. She didn't didn't bother looking at me or thanking me. Pero pag kay Van lagi naka smile tapos eye to eye pa sila tsss...

Anyway since tapos na ang duty ko, tumungo na ako sa event hall para makinig in whatever's left there for me to listen.

Sakto, the speaker infront shocked me. It was Red! All these time akala ko waiter or chef siya but wtf?! He's the owner of this hotel and he's that 21 yrs old guy! Ba't di ko siya nakilala?!"

He bid his last message and the event for that morning ended. The guests entered the restaurant and ate their lunch.

"Lhara, I need to settle some business. Be in the room at 1pm" ani Van bago pumunta sa isang table.

As usual, magkasama si Van at Violet sa table. Okay, sila na bagay tsssss.

"Lhara." Red called out.

"Red, thanks for helping me out with the food."

"Welcome."

"You should've told me na ikaw ang owner ng hotel na to."

"No need. I'm just a normal person. Anyway in exchange for helping you out, can you help me too?" Tanong niya.

"With what?"

"May new dish kami na i lalaunch next month. Kailangan ko ang opinion mo." Sabi niya.

Pumasok kami sa kitchen and there stands a cake. Kumuha siya ng plato at pinaglagyan ako.

"Mhmmm. It tastes good. Pero i think kailangan ng something unique. Maraming kalasa eh." Ani ko.

"Thanks for the feedback. I actually think so too. Anyway since paalis naman na kayo bukas, can I be honest with you?" Tanong niya. I raised my brows.

"Sure."

"I actually know you, that's why I was watching you nung nag fofood tasting ka."

"Seryoso?! How?!"

"Well... Mr. Quing asked me to marry you a month ago. Pero sabi ko I want to know you first but he said it was urgent kaya, hindi natuloy. But If nagkaroon tayo ng chance na mag get to know, I would've said yes. You're very humble, simple, charming, and much more. You're exactly my type and I like you." He said. Muntik ko pa mahulog yung plato ko e. Taeng small world to.

"Ganun ba, sana pala sayo nalang at least ikaw ka vibes ko hahaha." I joked.

"Bakit? Hindi ba kayo vibes ni Mr. Newton?" Tanong niya.

"Hindi noh." I rolled my eyes.

Nagtagal yung usapan namin ni Red. We became good friends. Vibes kami. 4pm na ata nang makabalik ako sa room namin ni Van dahil ininvite niya pa ako na mag bowling sa sports area ng hotel.

"San ka galing?" Naka kunot noong tanong ni Van. Then suddenly, I remembered him saying something like I should be here in the room at 1pm and it's 4pm!

"Nag bowling."

"Alone?" He asked.

"Hindi, may kasama akong friend." Ani ko.

"Oh so you made a friend here in bikol. "Sabi niya at tumayo sa kama.

"So, tell me about this friend. What's his name?" He said, his eyes dark. By the sound of his voice and expression I can feel na it's not time to joke around. I'm sure he's mad. I gulped.

"Jared Tan, the owner of this hotel. You know him..." I said. He walked towards me and cornered me on the wall.

"Oh... that guy. Wala naman problemang makipag hangout ka with friends Lhara, but you dumped me so many times over that guy in a short period of time." He said, eyes locked on mine.

"Una, yung dinner. You lied about strolling around the pool, dapat mag sasabay tayo mag dinner non kaso iniwan moko sa kwarto, only to find out that you're eating with that guy." He said.

"I just thought that... you needed to rest..."

"Next, you ignored mez And it happened twice. Una, yung magkasama kayo mag dinner and next nung nagkasalabong tayo kahapon sa breakfast."

"Its just that..." i said but he cut me off.

" The last one is unforgivable... You ditched me. Dapat mag totour tayo ng 1pm but you ended up coming here at 4pm."

"I-Im sorry..." I said and looked away.

"If you like that guy, drop it. You're married to me."

"What?! Eh ikaw nga diyan e halos lagi kayo magkasama nung Violet! Tapos pag ako tuloy, big deal!" Inis na sabi ko.

"It was for business purposes." He said.

"Don't make a fool out of me. I saw how you look at each other tapos sabay pa kayo nag dinner and all. Even on times na dapat di naman kayo magkasama, magkasama kayo. Like nung SUNDAY sino naman ang may BUSINESS on a sunday?!" I said. I couldn't believe that these words are even coming out from my mouth!

I saw the corners of his lips rise. He smiled, yung smile na parang mapang asar.

"Are you Jealous?" He teased and moved closer to my face.

"A-asa ka! Never! Sinasabi ko lang. baka ikaw ang selos." I said. I could feel the embarassment flowing through my veins. Did I actually said that?!

"Ako inaamin ko nag selos ako. Eh ikaw? I'm more curious about you. Are you jealous of Violet?" His eyes narrowed. I can pretty much see that he's enjoying this.

"Never." I said and pushed him away. I walked towards the bed to hide my face. Nag selos ba ako? Why do I feel embarassed kung hindi naman?

Suddenly, i felt him grab my hand and pulled me towards him.

"Why is your face so red?" He teased.

"I'm just tired. Let me go." I said and tried to get away from his grip.

"You're actually jealous aren't you?"

"Shut up..."

"She's just an old friend, ka klase ko nung college and a business partner. Nothing more. He assured. Deep inside I'm relieved, i tried my best to hide it. I hope he didn't notice what I actually feel.

"I don't care. Let me go."

"No, you have to pay for what you've done to me the past few days." He whispered and pulled me closer for a kiss.
