In a small village inside Bulgaria, there's a man living there named Vladiskav Lorenzittee.
The small family live in peace and harmony, the Lorenzittee. The poor family live only just by farming. Vladiskav is the first born. The ambitious one. Trying to pull himself up from being poor and want to live with wealth.
"Vladiskav, tulongan mo kami dito!", his mother shouted at him.
Walang nagawa si Vladiskav kundi ay sumunod sa kanyang ina. Matagal na siyang naririndi sa ganitong buhay but he don't have a choice but to go with it.
The Lorenzittee are not so known family in Bulgaria. They live far from the town. Sa loob lang ng kakahuyan sila naninirahan. Some says the Lorenzittee are a family of bad people.
Hindi nga sila nagkakamali. But, they're not bad people. They just practice dark magic. Vladiskav's grandparents are rumpletilt, the one who's practicing dark magics. His parents followed the steps but in a less darker way which later on they call themselves sorcerer and sorceress. They connect their powers with nature to balance it with bad and good.
Vladiskav's mother is a witch while is father is human but turn to sorcerer in the family's ritual.
Vladiskav live with a knowledge of witchcraft and dark magics so he try it to himself. For years of practicing dark magics and witchcraft, he learned some and decided to go to the town and try his abilities.
Vladiskav is so happy knowing that it works. He wander everyday at the town, leaving his family doing the farmland.
Di nagtagal ay maraming nabihag na mga dalaga si Vladiskav. He's handsome in his own time. There are lots of women who wanted him to be their husbands ngunit mapaglaro lamang si Vladiskav noon.
One girl captured his heart. Jestiva Vetrova, the daughter of Sultan Mumhed, and the sister of Vasladav, the ruler of Bulgaria.
Jestiva is very pretty. More like a goddess in her time. Vladiskav married Jestiva immediately without any hesitation. He brought her to his home and they live there.
For years, hindi nagbunga ang pagmamahalan nila Vladiskav and Jestiva. They waited and waited to have a son or a daughter but nothing. Jestiva thought that Vladiskav has a problem with so she run away home and go back to the town.
Vladiskav didn't know any of this so when he went home from farm ay wala na dito sa bahay nila si Jestiva. He was so devastated and he find her but she's nowhere to be found.
Months later, Jestiva went back to Vladiskav, pregnant.
Sa sobrang tuwa ni Vladiskav na nagbalik si Jestiva ay mabilis niya itong sinalubong ng yakap.
"I'm pregnant. We're going to have a baby", Jestiva said.
Vladiskav's eyes widened in surprise. He didn't thought they'll going to have a baby. He's going to be a father. But he didn't know, that the son Jestiva is carrying isn't his.
For years, Vladiskav live believing a lie that Jestiva made him believed. When Jestiva labored the son, she named him Ambrogio. Tuwang-tuwa ang mag-asawa sa naganap. Mabilis kumalat ang balita sa pamilya ni Jestiva ang nangyari.
A year later, Jestiva and Vladiskav finally have a son and name him Cecilion. Masayang-masaya si Jestiva, she thought she'll never have a baby with Vladiskav but here it is. Finally. At nasundan pa iyon, with another son, she named him Nathaniel.
Jestiva and Vladiskav's life is perfect. A happy home with three children. They thought it was enough.
Lumaki ang mga bata na masayahin. Jestiva felt guilty for not telling the truth to Vladiskav pero wala din siyang lakas ng loob. She let it go. Ambrogio, Cecilion and Nathaniel grow up as a very fine young man. At the age of nineteen, eighteen, seventeen the boys grow up like a man.
"Vladiskav, anong plano mo sa mga anak mo? Ayaw mo ba silang igaya sa atin?", her grandmother visit his house one day.
Wala si Jestiva dahil sinama ng kanyang ina sa bayan. Kung saan sila namili at kinausap din ni Jestiva ang kanyang ama na pwede na bang maging isang General si Vladiskav. She's tired of living that kind of life but she can't leave Vladiskav. She love him.
"Lola, huwag na natin idamay ang mga bata!", sabi ni Vladiskav sa kanyang Lola.
The old lady shook her head firmly. She wanted to make Vladiskav's son like them, to be one of the rumpletilt, the practitioner of dark magic.
"Kailangan maipagpatuloy iyon, Vladiskav. Hindi pwedeng maudlot!", galit na sabi ng matanda.
"Lola, huwag na pong gawin iyan. Ayaw kong mamuhay ang mga anak kong ganoon", he said firmly ngunit nagalit lamang ang matanda.
"Anong gusto mo sa buhay? Umangat? Yumaman? Maiibigay ko iyan sayo kung hahayaan mong gawin ko ito sa mga anak mo!", sabi ng matanda.
Napatigil si Vladiskav. His ambition. Too much hunger of power.
"Gusto mo ng kapangyarihan sa Bulgaria? Maiibigay ko iyan sayo kung susundin mo ang gusto ko, Vladiskav. Mamili ka. Mananatili sa ganitong estado o aangat?", the old lady shouted in front of Vladiskav.
Napaisip siya. He wants to be powerful in life. Gusto niyang umangat. He's to ambitious kaya kaya niyang gawin ang kung anong paraan para makamit ang kanyang matagal ng pinapangarap. He's willing to sacrifice everything and give up everything just to have the power he wants.
Bumalik na galing sa pamamasyal ang kanyang tatlong anak. Nagtatawanan pa ito ng nasa malayo kaya mabilis siyang naalerto.
"Ano, Vladiskav? Papayag ka ba kapalit ng kapangyarihan na gusto mo?", tanong ng ina ni Vladiskav.
Wala siyang naisagot na salita. Tumango lamang siya. Parang nagliliwanag ng ilang perasong mga bulawan ang kanyang mga mata. The old lady laugh creepily at him pero hindi iyon inalintana ni Vladiskav.
Finally, the power he wants is on the way. Abot kamay na ito. He won't let this opportunity to go. His grandma promise him that.
